| | | Back on topic (gasp!), here's a excellent example (IMHO) of practical UE "camouflage": http://www.uer.ca/...l.asp?picid=173570 Dark-ish, neutral colours, but not black, and not obviously "military" looking. As has been said before, black is _not_ the hardest colour to see. It is noticibly darker than its surroundings, and is therefore noticable. A dull grey tends to be your best bet for blending in in an urban setting, and looks relatively inconspicuous, if somewhat bland. Our ERU (tactical police unit) here uses this technique. Their entire uniform (including armour, hats, and badges, everything except their boots) is a 50% grey. From my casual observation, it seems to work well. They definitely don't pop out at me as readily as the black uniforms the patrol officers wear. [last edit 4/11/2006 8:02 PM by CyberShoe - edited 1 times]

| | | I usually dress like this. Notice how I'm mostly invisible. I agree with you about straight black, plus it doesn't look too good if you're stopped by authorities. You should be set just wearing dark/muted colors. Make sure you're not wearing a jacket with reflector things on them. Those are the last things you want.

| | | darker matte colors work better, but black isn't all that bad. It's just not best. We informally tested this and if theres a (street)light between you adn them it really doesn't matter as long as its something dark. Personally I like the dark longsleeves over light, so if secofs/cops/anything happens I can unzip (and ditch the black leather gloves in my pockets). Also, if you search they have lots.

| | | I'm a big fan of hawaiian shirts, especially the ones with hibiscus prints. I suppose you could get away with a more earth-tone shirt with just palm trees and sunsets but I personally wouldn't risk it. As far as shorts I prefer khaki cargo pants but this is all about personal preference and how much gear you need to carry. Many of the hardcore drainers will say nothing beats swim trunks though. Ideally you want swim trunks with pockets but these can be hard to find. And of course, don't forget the credibility props. I prefer a strawberry daiquiri but most of the real hardcore urbexers will swear by blended margaritas. Again it's an issue of personal preference. Hope this helps. -pawolf

| | | http://www.uer.ca/...d=1&threadid=26142 this thread goes over a bit of that here and there.. Pretty much earth tones are good.. Black sucks as camo at night, navy blue is better.. but it all depends on time of day and where you are..

Just kidding. Dark green and dark brown work best. Try not to have two hugely contrasting color differences between top and bottom, it creates a line that is easily distinguished by the human eye.

| | | If you just wear anything you want, you can still get in to damn near anything. I have never not gotten into anything because of the clothes I was wearing. I could dress in a reflective suit and still get in. It's not like what we do is top secret eyes only shit. Usually nobody is watching an old building or whatever it is you're going in. And if they are, they certainly can't be watching the entire building the whole time, now can they? We just go in after the guard has turned the corner for a minute. And once inside we just don't throw our beer cans out the open windows at him. That's how the BeerCommand ninja brigade does it. My explorer clothes are just clothes that can get dirty, and I'm a mechanic, so that's most of them.

If you wear something over your fingers are you still able to shoot? or do you have gloves with the tips missing? Or what's goin on here.

This winter must be the most you have ever UE'd since Jersey is typically below or hovers around that from October to early March.
