| | | as with automobiles the hardest color to make shapes out in is a dark green almost black color . . . i usually wear semi faded black jeans (from age not bought that way although my jeans are womens jeans they fit like mens because i have such a slight build) and a black polar-fleece hoodie because throwing the hood up makes you even more shapeless. they all pretty much fit like long johns in the woods any complicated pattern will make you more invisible because the human eyes see a pattern in the complexity of the forest and will look for a mass that is plain and doesn't match in the city anything along the dark green mud color is good because shadows are never true black and solids are your best friend because of the patterns the human eyes search for but whatever it is close fitting is good but skin tight is very bad

| | | I wear either my 5.11 desert camo cargo pants, or my homemade Multicam pants when I go UEing. If you guys want to find a killer deal on some 5.11 pants check out this site: http://www.botac.com/5tadecapa.html. I got my 5.11 pants from there for about $10.95+S&H. In regards to camouflage, try to blend into your enviroment. In the city, anything goes. I recommend gray, khaki, navy blue and multicam for UE. Oh, here's a pic of those 5.11 pants I referred to earlier:

| | | So i have 2 pairs of gloves that i wear when i UE... One cotton pair that are thin, then some more heavy duty but thin gloves which are very very durable. These work pretty well..... For maybe 30 minutes or so. Then they start to get real cold. My hands actually end up being more cold in the gloves then if i were to take them out of the gloves. I've heard of thin gloves that are wind proof and VERY warm. Does anyone know what kind of gloves these are? I figure i can wear them under my durable gloves to keep my hands warm. Also, Does anyone know if any company makes water proof boots with a metal shank in the sole so if you step on nails they don't go through, and that are fairly warm?

| | | As for the boots, try Converse.. I have no idea if they are actually good boots.. but I know they have waterproof tac boots.. I am pretty sure Bates or Magnium have some as well.. Altama, Ridge, Corcoran, Danner, and 5.11 are a few other companies that make tac boots and likely have what your looking for.. I have owned Corcoran, they were deece but didn't last all that long. Ridge, I Loved those, maybe the most comphy boots I have had but really hated the fact they had a bubble, because they eventually pop and make craptons of noise.. Bates, I have the ultra lites now and they are pretty damn good boots, although they are starting to show the ill effects of age.. Hope that helps in some way.. added: From what I have seen alot of boots have started to go with composite toes and or shanks to keep metal out of them, and also save on weight.. | | | I used to have a swell pair of gloves that were made for hunters. Those hunting supply stores and catalogs are fantastic for cold weather gear. It makes sense, those guys sit around in whatever weather waiting. Anyway, one-finger shooter gloves are similar to mittens (which I personally think are warmer than gloves), and they have a forefinger separate. So if you're stocking up on warm weather gear, I'm always first to recommend army surplus and hunting supply.

| | | Ha, I have a pair of Raichle boots from 89. They've been up 4 mountains in alaska on my grandfather's feet. They are in great shape. Warmest boots I've ever worn, heavy though. Also...a bit loud on hard surfaces, otherwise I absolutely adore them.
Hey yeah you, fat ass. Not interested. |

| | | you may want something that is Gore Windstopper--there are a number of models available, though my favorites are black diamond's... I know marmot makes them, as does patagonia--they run you 25-30 bucks, but they are GREAT windproof liners

| | | for gloves I highly reccomend the Hatch NS430 Specialist Neoprene Gloves. Hatch blurb says: The Hatch NS430 is our most popular duty glove. Designed specifically for all-weather handgun use, this glove is an essential piece of equipment for all men and women of Law Enforcement. The palm is made of Synsi-feel™ synthetic leather, which provides excellent grip and accurate feel. For maximum grip, Toughtek™ non-slip patches are sewn onto the palm and all fingertips except the index finger, to facilitate the best possible trigger control. A Velcro® closure keeps it comfortably and firmly in place. The NS430 feels like a second skin, with unmatched flexibility, dexterity and grip. • Synthetic leather Synsi-feel™ palms • Toughtek™ non-slip material on fingertips (except index) and palm • Neoprene back • Velcro® closure assures a snug, comfortable fit and I really like for winter safety boots the Metal-Free Dakotas
