I've heard alot of things about Padova City from a close friend of mine. He was there years ago and told me some pretty (forgive me for becoming cheesy suddenly) spine chilling tales. I've never watched MTV Fear or anything of that nature but I have done a little research of my own on the location. And yes I have heard that the place is in fact haunted. Just wondering what you guys think of that whole thing seeing as some of you have been there.

I have done the type of work that is done in Tranquille, and spoke with a few nurses on diffent occasions who had worked there when it was open, it would not suprise me in the least if it was haunted. The stories they told were chilling!

If you go into the childrens ward (the green building with the playground beside) and look into one of the mirrors you can supposedly see a childs face in it. I've tried before and nothing happened. Another one is if you go into the attic of the main building. I DID hear a door slam as soon as I went up there. However, keep in mind to watch out for asbestos in that area. Hope this helps!

Why thank you. I appreciate any useful exploration tips and area suggestions. Is there like a school or school house type thing there as well or am i mistaken?

Yes actually,

Tranquille was designed to be a city on its own with its own power plant, farms and SCHOOLS. I beleive there was a preschool, an elementry school and a high school.

Just making sure the information was correct. I would really love to see it. All of it. I get my friend to tell me more and more about his tour and his time spent there. I have to admit, I've never wanted to explore any other place more than this.

The company i was working for before was driven nuts by my attempts to go out to kamloops. They were like no! We don't need anyone out there. When i had my own company i didn't know about padova so i didn't have reason to go out there. hahaha. It's unfortunate that they stopped the tours.

When I first looked Padova up on the net, I found that site. It was excellent. I was really impressed. It's probably one of the best pages I've seen on an exploration, at least for pictures and such. Do you know of any good places in Kelowna to take a peek at?

It was actually a few months after the previous owner Ed Nielson passed away that a a few friends and I went to Padova to see if it was possible that we walk through it, and just kind of explore things. We knocked on the front door, the house that I was aware that the younger man lived. He told us that he appreciated us asking him for his permission, and that he just didn't like it when random people would break in and have no consideration for his property, which obviously was understandable. Luckily he said that we could feel free to walk though the whole place, and he asked us to please not go into any of the buildings as they were all alarmed and quite run down. He was just about to show an investor the property too. I think the main reason that he trusted us so much was because of the fact that Ed and my dad were good friends, and also because we were 4 young girls, and it obviously didn't look like we were about to cause any trouble.

From reading what previous people have said, Im assuming that there isn't anyone allowed to go in there anymore. I just thought I'd share what happened in my past experience.

I can see why people do like to go out there, and explore things, but it's definetly a pain in the ass for the owners, and in my opinion it really isn't worth the trouble of getting caught, and quite frankly hurting yourself if you attempt to enter any of the buildings.

I think that without having to tear anything down, it would be a really good tourist attraction. Just to be able to take a tour through the whole city, without obviously entering any of the buildings, and having someone explain each building, and what all happened during the time that it was up and running.

Yes, somebody did try to open it up for tours but he couldn't afford it so he sold the property with the name "Padova City" (named after the Italian city that he was born in) tagged on to it. I think the province bought it back after and rented out some of the houses but that was too expensive due to the 6 million in back taxes that that the government had to pay.

I'm glad I came to this sight before making the trip to Kamloops. My dreams have been dashed, but I'd hate to upset the owner...

I don't mean to be a rebel here but only the main buildings are alarmed. The first time I was there I went in to some of the houses and nothing happened. However, the second time I was there I went into the Main Building (the only large building with an open door) and he came out and talked to me....
