|  | | | Has anyone been in this tunnel? It sounds kind of cool, I'm going to go check it out some time. It's between the Westin Nova Scotian hotel, and the Electropolis film studios. A friend of mine's father works at (or used to?) the film studios, I'll ask him about it next time I see him. I got the information from the tunnel here:

"To service the hotel, Nova Scotia Power Corporation built a power plant beside the hotel which has a tunnel connecting the two buildings. Today, the tunnel is not used and the electrical plant is now a film studio which has attracted many US and European based film companies to use its facilities and all the incredible scenery that our city and province has to offer."

I did get it from the Westin site, sorry, I should've posted a direct link. It was in the "About the Hotel" section:

The paragraph I posted is the only mention of the tunnel, though.

The tunnel isn't used anymore (it was built when the film studio was a power plant), which makes me even more curious what's down there today.

I understand it's not used. But perhaps the movie studio use it from time to time. Wellington Tunnel in Montreal is abandonned yet it's used by movie crews.

| | | | I went to the Westin to check it out this evening, but all the doors in the "hotel" part of the basement were locked. There was however another section of the bottom floor that looked like more of a utility area, that would probably have an entrance to the tunnel. I didn't get a chance to go there (there were some employees looking at me in the parking lot), but I'll try again another time.

|  | | | Yeah. There is a good area in behind the Westin, around the far left side of Pier21, look around, there may be an external entrance.
Maybe you can skip the manhole idea completely.
