It's in Victoria, (more info on page 41 of the Victoria tunnel thread). I'll give you a tour if you're in town. Or PM me if you want detailed instructions. It's a public park, more or less at the bottom of Head Street. Yes, 'Head' Street you read rite. Keep going until you hit water, (the boat launch) then walk to your left for a few minutes, and there it be.

Hey! I am totally into touring that Victoria gun placement. Would you be willing to give me more info on that? We may come invade the Island sometime in the next few months. Is it accessible?? Cheers!

| | | I don't think you will have any trouble invading the island, as you can see our guns are missing! As well as this free park in Esquimalt, you might want to check out Fort Rodd Hill in Colwood. It's easy to find, and is in the phone book. They charge admission, so it's 'Disney UE', but good for learning about the guns and bunkers. They have decommisioned guns still in place, and other cool stuff. The gun turret in the photo is one of several, and that cool little tunnel is nearby. This is a free public park, so I think it's okay to post the directions. From downtown, cross the Johnson Street bridge, (and be sure to admire the beautiful abandoned Janion Building on your right, it's on the downtown side) Take photos if you get into that, never been done, yet... it's basically bomb proof. Once over the bridge just follow the road for a couple of kms, (see the old rail turntable on your left), and keep going until you get to Lampson Street, turn left on Lampson, and drive to the very end. (Or jog down Head street, Lampson is easier) There's a boat launch parking area. Walk left and see what you find. Cheers, enjoy!

Actually, I think Kubla Khan was in the Janion building, there is a thread somewhere on here, interior photos included. *Edit: You have to have Level 3 to to view the Janion thread. [last edit 4/11/2006 5:59 AM by Mowgli-dog - edited 1 times]

| | | I could be wrong, you could be right... I believe some people from the heritage group got in with permission at one point. Maybe K.K. was in that group. I think he would have told me if he got in. Any chance you could re post a pic or two, without breaking any rules of the board? Supposed to be an impressive staircase in it. Not even any interior photos at the City Archives, but I haven't checked the others. Thanks.
