| | | About ten minutes west of Antigonish, NS, on top of Beaver "Mountain," is an abandoned house. It's boarded up, but v/easy to get into (explored it last week). Looks like the previous owner left hastily sometime in the late 90s (I say hastily b/c there are still beds, tables, chairs, a TV, a fridge and a whole schwack of assorted other goodies to see). My guess is the owner died and the inheritor can't be bothered to do anything w/ the house and contents other than let nature reclaim it... bird/animal droppings all over and lots of water damage. Cool. Not as spectacular as an abandoned radar station, I'm sure, but worth a look if any of you are as bored as you claim.

| | | I never knew exploring places like this was so popular, personally, I usually like more remote areas then the Radar station. Which leads to havings more worries about if something falls on me no one will find me for a few months or years. Which I perfer over the security graud issue. Some locations are clearly marked on some maps, though a car, or I use my bicycle is needed due to being out side of Halifax. In some Halifax buildings there are areas where no one has been for months, and hundreds of people walk by the door every day. Like maZe says, there is alot of fun in finding the places. For me I would be very worried about releasing locations in fear of them being locked up, torn down or someone getting them selfs hurt.
Posted by maZe Blake, most urban explorers will not give specific locations. A major part of the fun is researching and finding locations... I've never asked for anybody to give me specific locations like coordinates and such. If you're bored. Go outside, walk around, take the bus around the city, look around and you'll find great locations. Good luck!

| | | There are a few abandoned places in Cape Breton, the former Keddy's Hotel, the Vogue theater, probably tons more in NOrth Sydney, or Sydney Mines. There is an old military site in Sydney Mines, I believe, visited there with my bro in law, no real need to infiltrate, but its still pretty neat. Oh yeah, Hi forum, I'm new here!

Yes. Can't post them yet. But those includes : abandonned army base, abandonned YMCA, abandonned train station and abandonned school. And I'm keeping an eye on the old Gunningsville Bridge in Moncton, as of tomorrow, it will be history.

| | | Hey, srry for a real late bump but I did have a few ideas for ya'll. They can be kind of tricky to get into though. Mcnabs Island out in the harbour has a slew of abondoned bunkers and military base style underground buildings you can get into. Bring rubber boots though, preferably high ones as some of it's tunnels have a fair bit of water in em. Georges Island does as well. It, however, is not open to the public and if the Coastguard sees you heading into it will likely send you packing. There is also Devils Island out at the mouth of the harbour. The currents can be a bit ugly getting out there, so make sure you have a stable boat, but your reward is an abondoned house, several abondoned cellars, and a lighthouse that can be gotten into. Once again however Devils Island is private property and the Coastguard doesn't like people heading in there so take a row boat, less noise and you can drag them up on the beach out of sight. Another good spot in town is the Armdale Yaught club, they have a couple semi-abondoned buildings you can just stroll right into. Most notably an abandoned prison/stockades that used to be owned by the navy that is quite cool to take a strut through, and a bit creepy to. As a side note, wow I didn't know other people did this sort of thing until I stumbled into this site. Me and my friends are mostly just stoners that kinda stumble into these places just cruisein around looking for spots to burn one. I know a couple more good spots in the BeaverBank, Fallriver, Waverly area if anyone is interested. [last edit 5/16/2006 3:16 AM by pyth - edited 1 times]

| | | Are there ferries that run to McNabs? I know people go over there from time to time, so I'd imagine there is some independent boat service going over there, likely out of Eastern Passage. I should know this, but I've never actually looked into it.

go down to the tourist bureau on the waterfront, theres a panflet there for a boat dude that runs out to mcnabb's for you (from eastern passage)at whatever time you show up and schedual a pick up time with him. i can't remember the name, i have the panflet at home, but it's good service. and they give you a map [last edit 5/21/2006 7:51 PM by darbycrashin - edited 1 times]
