Ultimate UE tool (Ladder)

Okay I just saw an advertisment for this on tv

Looks cool for UE, but it's a bit heavy. It's a telescopic ladder!

Interesting.

I actually considered buying one of those to keep in my car for those hard to reach infiltration points. They have another kind that folds in half thats more light weight but not as tall...would be nice for UE. They are kind of expensive though... ~Grit.

Yeah I used to work at a store that sold those and unless you really don't have to take it very far, you really are gonna regret toting that thing all over the place. They're real bulky too. But if you have a specific place where you NEED a ladder it would be awesome.

I am probably going to get one of these ladders. The cheapest place I have found them is Sams Club for $176.87. http://www.samsclu...2123:-32139:926817

Home Depot

Type 2 model 770 - 25 lbs. $179.99
Type 1A model 780 - 30 lbs. $249.00

They don't appear to carry the UER approved back anodized stealth versions on the site anyway.

Another idea for portability - for climbing down manholes or descending floors where staircases are absent: 'fire escape' ladders from 15 ft to 50 ft. They aren't cheap for some reason.

If you've got a few hundred dollars to splash out on a ladder, it might be cool to keep one in the car, in case you need it. it would weigh a ton to carry with you though.

Those retractable ladders are an excellent idea! Just as soon as I strike it rich, I'll be getting one for sure.

I've dreamt of getting a nice portable ladder for drains (climbing up to the stepirons in manhole chambers), but I think this would be too heavy. Better to go with a rope or a little brother who can sit on your shoulder .

Try a climbing rope with a daisy chain.

Either Home Potty is lying on their website, or I accidentally looked up the American ".com" instead of ".ca" version. But physically visiting their fine establishment this evening, they had the Type 2, 25 pound version only, and it was $259 Canadian. That makes oldtimer sad.

If the Sam's Club has it for $176.87 in Canadian pesos I might have to borrow someone's club card.

That is excellent, I have recently seen one that is small enough to fit in a medium-sized backpack, you could use it to get up to the second story of a building or over a wall, and then retract it once you are up/over for security.

rope is less expensive and easily concealed, besides, what kind of ninja uses a ladder? Plus, having decent upper body strength never hurt anyone

I could see the potential use of such a sweet ladder :p

personally, since i do alot of buildering, i think the use of a ladder takes away from the experience...im more hands on

but then again thats just me
