definitely, im happy someone is into the idea of a game, at least it might be a way of encouraging some exploration. I saw 35 people view the post and no responses. I think a car rally type exploration could also be fun.. perhaps for easter? ok, the hint is,

If you take a walk with Malcolm Lowry you might find me to the east.

Y'know... I actually don't remember what the building was called (if it even had a sign). I just know it's across from Cliffhanger. But the people I've asked have said it is indeed a steelworks of some sort, so I think you got it.

this not the opsal steel building, it's the building on 1st ave and ontario
on the property that was previously used by the indy

and for some reason, there is a lot of water under this building

Same colour and similar design as Opsal. Isn't the building related (though not directly adjacent) to the Cambie works yard? I think it's the only building that will be left standing (heritage designation and all) when the demolition of the works yard and surrounding area is complete. I haven't been by recently, but I think it's still active. At least it was, last time I checked. The interesting thing about the building is that it's actually on pilons over water. If you go up close and look through the holes near the base of the walls, you'll see what I mean.

The water under the building is probably the result of the rumor i hear that most of the piece of vancouver around false creek, rom cambie out to main or fraser and from hastings sort of out to 40th or so used to all be ocean inlet / bog... and was built up with debris to make it buildable. I cant confirm the rumor as i have never excavated a property in this area. But its just a rumor... and no homeless people who know someone who know someone are able to actually help me figure out if its fact.. thanks for putting up a new location.. sounds like thats close to marios gelato? on quebec?

That's the old Vancouver Salt Company building, built in 1931. Class 'A' heritage I believe, same as Opsal. Yes False Creek's shore had been filled in after the building was built, hence why there is still water underneath and the shore is so far away. If you look behind it, close to the shore along the seawall path, you can see the remnants of a small train trestle used to move rail cars to cargo ships on False Creek.
