| | | | When I was a young girl, my dad took me to the Swift Slaughterhouse ruins. We didn't go in, but I remember him showing me a small stone staircase that had, I believe, a mosaic "S" on it. The stairs sort of curved up each side toward the middle. I think he told me that used to be an employee entrance. Now remember, this was all 30 years ago or more, but I distinctly remember those stairs. I didn't see them in anyone's pics, and was wondering if anybody had seen them. It would be sad if they were gone.

| | | | If you decide to explore that site, do be careful of places to fall through or into, both inside the structures and outside in the lots. Also found a "Home site" so watch out for that. Lot's of good graffiti to photograph, if you are into that.
Don't forget to check out the salt house.
When you are finished, go over to the Stockyards building and go in the museum there. Many pictures of the place during it's heyday and admission is free.
