| | | I got back yesterday from a two week trip to Puerto Rico...the reason for the trip was to visit family but me being one to try to make the best out of a bad situation or in my case a bad vacation I explored and found a couple of interesting places not far from my grandmother's tiny town. Oh, and if you ever find yourself in Puerto Rico...be sure to explore...there is no lack of great stuff to explore there...here are some pics. These 3 pics come from and abandoned "Faro" (lighthouse) in Guanica Puerto Rico, which was built in 1893 by the Spanish and abandoned in 1950 (i did my research).
These 2 pics are of a building in San German Puerto Rico (I don't really know anything about it).

| | | Nice pics and locations. That's a neat shot looking up the lighthouse tower.

| | | Puerto Rico is NUTS. It's like an old pirate town.. FROM THE FUTURE. There's so much old architecture, and then you get to places like San Juan, and it's living right along side flashy modern stuff. I haven't been recently, but this past year, as I've started to take urbex more seriously, I keep thinking I should go back and check it out.

| | | its definitely worth visiting. I stayed for the most part on the western side of the island were its more rural and open so there are really a lot of great places, but i'm sure there are a bunch by san juan and on that side of the island. i'm actually going back this december and i hope to check out a few places in the northwest along the coast by some of the old navy bases and then also there are a few good places in guanica in the southwest of the island where there are a bunch of run down old factories from the early 20th century..it should be good i'll be sure to put up more pics..hopefully better ones..
