Exploring Active Movie Theatre

Any tips for getting behind the screen at movie theatres? Any successes? Should I give up now and just look for an abandoned theatre? Am I asking too many questions?

Well I guess if you went on a day where hardly anyones there, and saw a movie no one else sees, and you're the only one in your theater, I guess it would be pretty easy. I don't know how you would get behind the screen, but I'm assuming you know.

depends on what you mean by 'behind the screen.' if you mean, the whole behind-the-scenes areas, i doubt a corporate-run multiplex will entertain your request, but if you chat it up with the small-town folks who run a small art cinema or second-run house, you'd be surprised at how quickly they might cut you loose and let you run around if you seem appreciative enough...

Not sure on what would happen....but say you were caught wandering behind the scenes at the theater....do you think they would call the cops or just have you escorted out of the building?

I have a bit of experience in this area, after working at a local cineplex Odeon. In most commercial theatres, the most you'll find back behind the screen is some speakers. Maybe some storage shelves. The really interesting stuff is upstairs, on the projection floor.
