| | | I'm heading out to the Maritimes for 2 weeks as of July 29th, and just thought I'd let all of you UE folks out that way know that I'm going to be in the area. We leave on the 29th and overnight in Levi, QC. We then are staying at Fundy National Park for a few days before heading to Halifax. After a few days there, we head to Cape Breton, then to PEI before heading back to Ontario. I'd love some tips on what to see (not just UE related stuff) while I'm out that way. C.

| | | Met with Redux while he was in Moncton. Wish I could have spent more time with him. This is a weird timing for coming here cause I'm going to Montreal for Opex (until July 31). I'm back in Moncton August 1st in the morning so if you're still around Moncton at these dates and want to hook up or something, PM me. As for Moncton, there is'nt much to see in town UE-wise. A few abandonned buildings but not much, the interesting ones have been demolished (Hotel Shediac, Green and White House. etc). But check the UE DB, there are interesting locations in Hillsborough, Dorchester, Sackville, etc. If you're into boats, the Camina is still abandonned and rusting away in Shediac but you'll have to swim to get to it. Redux did - he gets a "hardcore" mention from me for this. Of course, it's easier in the winter, you can just walk on frozen water. But they are working on freeing the Camina so there might be (might be) some activity around it...

Moncton : -don't waste your money on Magnetic Hill, it's just an optical illusion. -Hopewell Cape is neat. check the tides time before going. Go when the tide is at its lowest or 3 hours before low tide and 3 hours after low tide so you'll be able to go down and walk "on the ocean floor". OR rent a kayak at high tide - this is very cool! -Lots of quarries, an underground lake and stuff like that to explore in Albert County - that's usually fun! lots of companies do guide tours and such. -You are here during the "St. Stephen Chocolate Festival" in St. Stephen. Need to say more???

Ah, the Land of Chocolate! Sounds awesome! Unfortunately, I'm going to be breezing through Moncton on my way to Fundy National Park. I will be spending more time in Halifax, and the opportunity to check out some old war stuff is pretty tempting. Strangely enough, I keep forgetting about the UEDB. An McNabb's sounds super 100% ultra cool. If I can find the time, I'll definitely try to check that out. Got to remember my UE gear on the trip... C.
