| | | Does anybody have any pictures of the Canada Packers plant that existed in St.Boniface Winnipeg from 1925-2001???? IF I HAD PICTURES, THAT WOULD PROBABLY BE THE MOST INTERESTING MOST VISITED AREA OF THIS SITE....THAT PLANT WAS HUGE!!! It was located at 668 Marion street, corner of Rue Archibald. Please if anybody has any pictures, please do post them.

| | | Nope, I was too young to explore them. Apparently though it was just large open space so you were not missing too much.

| | | I was 14.5 when I went....it was back in 2000, like around may i think.....place was huge....there was still the hooks on the rails which would hold cattle carcasses upside down on....I couldn't find which was the kill floor, and I don't recall seeing the animal chute into the plant...there was a couple of big white tanks on the side between the Staff House, and this is where animal wastes (liquid, I'm guessing blood also?? fats?? oils??) were loaded into tank cars....there were two tracks (removed) between the staff house and C.Packers plant. PICTURES ANYONE??? PLEASE DO POST EM...i'm making a 1/87 (H.O) Model of the plant....

| | | I don't know it yet but they bricked up the building. I would be willing to take you inside, I can e-mail you with more information about a possible exploration.

| | | The Packers plant used to be the Shangri-la of UE in the St B. area for sure...some good times were there. Dangerous as hell though, especially if you didn't take care. On my first trip there I fell into a pit and thankfully only suffered a wrist sprain.. a good wake up call. I wish I would have had the foresight to take a camera on my outings there.. something I never used to think about when exploring. I don't have any pics of the packers but I did take a fairly good video on 8mm when it was imploded. Perhaps I can do a vid cap of that and see if the results are any good for you.

| | | Sure, any photo stills from a video or anything that has the plant in it would help. I am particularly interested in shoots of the rear of the plant... When you are standing infront of the plant....where the truck docks are (covered with cement/brick ceiling with cement columns), I wish to find out more details of the Right side, upper corner (on the STAFF HOUSE side)....the plant was blown to bits in march 2001.....too bad i never took any pics... CANADA PACKERS LTD. 668 Marion Street. Staff House added - 1944 Abandoned 1987 Built 1925 Demolished March 2001 Abbatoir, Smokehouse.
