| | | Here are some interesting pics from our atv trip around the Coquihalla Lakes Area last weekend: An old mine entrance:
An old cabin that was built by gold-miners (believe it dates back to 1940's)

| | | Cool, there are lots of places like that in the woods in BC. I used to stumble upon all sorts of old cabins and neat places like that when I was a kid travelling with my parents.

| | | Fantastic pictures. Have you (or anyone else reading this) been to some of the abandoned fish-canning villages up-Island? Complete villages left to be reclaimed by forest. There's the general store...bare shelves now covered in dust; a church; a school; a bakery. A bowling alley. Very cool places.

| | | No. I haven't. Not yet. A friend has, and he reports that it's like walking into a scene from a J.G. Ballard novel.

I remember sailing past several on the Inside Passage ferry. I need to get a boat and check out the coast...

Interesting picture. Ghostly. Imagine breaking through a wall of fog and finding that off your bow. It looks like the opening shot of a better-than-average suspense flick. And then, twenty feet off shore, you spot the crazy old man who haunts the village, and he's looking at you from the burned-out hulk of some abandoned industrial fishery cannery thingy. Or you arrive under cover of darkness, and there's a pale yellow light leaching from the window of said industrial fishery cannery thingy. And shadows dance around inside. You can hear music, maybe. Violin music, that jumpy Celtic stuff popular amongst East Coast college students. And it strains across the water, to you, in a canoe (what else?), and your faithful dog, Toby or Moby or Duke or Elvis, and his ears perk up and the fur bristles on his back and he turns to you and his eyes say "That's far enough...I'll wait here. Leave the cooler open," and then off you go...twenty feet to shore seems like a mile. And then finally, you're there, and the music is louder and there's laughter (not the happy kind) and the crazy old man appears from behind a veil of fog and scares you, and Toby or Moby or Duke or Elvis has eaten your supplies, and he's barking at you "I told you so, you big idiot," and then you snap off a few pictures for the Wraiths site and then a month later, your camera washes up ten miles south (it's a floating camera), near a naval base and then you're in the papers, cuz you're missing, and your dog's fur has turned grey and white from fright. Now tell me that wouldn't make a really stupid movie-of-the-week.

Good idea. I'm not medicated enough as it is. Suggestions? As for sleep...it's over-rated and strictly the domain of amateurs.
