	Howdy Folks, Names Mr Dixon< an Explorer from alberta, me and skankin steve will be in town for the week precluding skafest till that saturday. Anything worth checking out in Victoria (I havent been on the island since i was 10) thats nearby, weve already been informed about a few spots up island, but is there anything else noteworthy? thanks in advance. Many many many places to explore.

Bring some steel-toed boots. And a good flashlight. And maybe a hardhat.

Check out the Janion Building, the old soda factory, the old railway yard in Esquimalt. Very interesting places, if you can manage to get inside.

The first two I listed are boarded up and have been for decades. Check my earlier posts (Under the garden City) for details.

Let me know when you arrive and maybe we can plan something together. I'm itching to get into the Janion, but no one I know is willing to go the distance.

	Thanks , those people really are dedicated to a great cause. Some of those buildings are really interesting. I'm glad there is a society out there that is trying to protect these Heritage sites. Operating Entirely With Bad Intentions

Agreed. It's a nice idea. That said, many of these buildings have been left to rot, and some have become squats (nothing wrong with that, in and of itself) of habitual IV drug users (nothing wrong with that either, per se). However, where turf's the issue, some of the aforementioned do not like being interrupted whilst fixing (who does...?), thus making the locations somewhat dangerous for people like me, typical non-believers viz. a viz. IV drugs, etc. etc. etc.

On the other hand, I spoke to a guy who was twitching nervously one afternoon...something to do with meth, I suspect...and he provided some fascinating details about the Janion.

Along the lines of goth weirdness, rituals, strange sounds emanating from said building etc. phantom shadows etc.

Meth, remember...twitching badly, remember. And he had an odd glint in his eye.

I didn't care. The story was great. Odd people inside the place, creepy people with strange interests. Occult stuff.

Then the guy...meth guy...asked me for some change so he could catch a bus. I said sure and gave him a loonie.
