It has coordinates (degree, minute, second)for missile launch sites for all over the country. I'm gonna search my area this weekend hopefully.

Watch out for minuteman sites, I'm pretty sure those are still active.

Turn off the internet and go play outside.

Probably a nike base - pretty cool stuff but no silos. Nikes were little nuke cruise missiles that were designed to intercept incoming ruskie bomber groups.

I've been working pretty hard at this and have been in the following missile base types:

Titan (1 at the time the only so they weren't nubmered)
Atlas D
Atlas E
Atlas F

I've driven past a ton of Minuteman bases also - but I stay away from the active shit.

I am pretty sure that there are a lot of silo's in my area. I live 20 min. from desert.

There are a *TON* of silios where I live. I am in Montanna stationed at Malmstrom AFB. Since they are all currently acitve and I am part of the Security Force, I would not recommend exploring them

Hey Chainsaw, where were the Atlas F's you hit? I explored 2 outside of Roswell, NM and know where another one is in the area. I'm now down w/ the owner and I'm welcome back at any time. Maybe sometime we could meet up...

that siloboy silo in Lewis NY is about 20 minutes from my house. It is out in the middle of nowhere just off of US route 9... it was abandoned for awhile and some australian guy bought it... it just sits there.

There were a couple of silos all over up here. If I remember right, there are only 2 left (Essex NY and Saranac Lake, NY)

Where is Lewis, NY?
Probably near Plattsburg?

Strange there would be a silo in Essex.

That would be great - we've been talking about a road trip. You in NM?

We saw the Atals F's in Nebraska.

No,, I'm in Amarillo, about 3.5 hrs from Roswell. Denver I think is ~9 hrs?

I'll socialize the idea this weekend on our little excursion to the mountains...

About half of Subciety just got laid off when Agilent sold their jobs to HP to ship over to India, they have the free time...(I was lucky and quit when I smelled doom on the wind, lucky enough to find a new job)

Unfortuneatly I won't be able to do anything in the near future. Maybe in Dec. or Jan., during the break. No real rush though. The owner is fixing up one silo, and I told him I'd like to come back and take "after" pics. The other site he owns is just sitting there in the desert. He has no plans for it at all. I have yet to explore that one fully.

If it's still federally owned stay the hell away from it - quite simply - the sites I have visited are all private property - a fed owned site will get you in a lot more trouble...like federal-fuck-me-in-the-ass prison...

I believe "AF" is short for "Atlas F" a type of nuclear missile. I would be worried if there are people there.

Edit: worried as in I would not step foot on or near that property.

I took AF to mean AIR FORCE, again - unless you know how the ownership works, stay out.
