| | | Probably a nike base - pretty cool stuff but no silos. Nikes were little nuke cruise missiles that were designed to intercept incoming ruskie bomber groups. I've been working pretty hard at this and have been in the following missile base types: Titan (1 at the time the only so they weren't nubmered) Atlas D Atlas E Atlas F I've driven past a ton of Minuteman bases also - but I stay away from the active shit.

| | | There are a *TON* of silios where I live. I am in Montanna stationed at Malmstrom AFB. Since they are all currently acitve and I am part of the Security Force, I would not recommend exploring them

Hey Chainsaw, where were the Atlas F's you hit? I explored 2 outside of Roswell, NM and know where another one is in the area. I'm now down w/ the owner and I'm welcome back at any time. Maybe sometime we could meet up...

| | | that siloboy silo in Lewis NY is about 20 minutes from my house. It is out in the middle of nowhere just off of US route 9... it was abandoned for awhile and some australian guy bought it... it just sits there. There were a couple of silos all over up here. If I remember right, there are only 2 left (Essex NY and Saranac Lake, NY) The Samurai

| | | Unfortuneatly I won't be able to do anything in the near future. Maybe in Dec. or Jan., during the break. No real rush though. The owner is fixing up one silo, and I told him I'd like to come back and take "after" pics. The other site he owns is just sitting there in the desert. He has no plans for it at all. I have yet to explore that one fully.

| | | If it's still federally owned stay the hell away from it - quite simply - the sites I have visited are all private property - a fed owned site will get you in a lot more trouble...like federal-fuck-me-in-the-ass prison...

I believe "AF" is short for "Atlas F" a type of nuclear missile. I would be worried if there are people there. Edit: worried as in I would not step foot on or near that property. [last edit 9/10/2003 10:59 AM by RevSM - edited 1 times]
