| | | Posted by Mister Hobbs SEAL Team 6 as well as Delta (CAG) get some of their instruction from private contractors that are not criminals. There are private companies that teach incredibly advanced lock bypassing/manipulation courses. Did Marcinko go to the underworld for some instruction? Who knows? I do know there is a lot of hyperbole in his books and he has basically been discredited in some of what he says by other Navy SEALs, take it for what it is worth.

Good call...I obtained my info from the Rogue WArrior's books...so I'm sure there was a slight bias in the writing...suppose for use non-DOD personel it's just practice, practice, practice.

| | | I would not eliminate the possibility that certain Special Operations Units would "interview" known criminals who had information that they wanted to obtain on safe and vault manipulation, alarm system bypassing or lock picking. I just think it was overblown compared to the professional instruction they receive. (Think about it for a moment, if a person is in prison for safe cracking, lock picking or alarm bypass, how did they get caught? <G> )

| | | ...from what I read, I was under the impression that these 'mentors' were still on the street...not (yet) imprisoned...
