| | | I say Hallagan tool, but I don't even own one, mostly because I'm not nearly cool enough. I'll go with flashlight instead.

depends on whether or not you actually need a flashlight. If it's night time, or the building is dark, then obviously flashlight comes first because otherwise you can't see. if it's light out and the place you're exploring is light enough, then the multi tool.

That's my favorite tool TOO! But seriously, i'd say none of the above. Maps are the best in my eyes.

| | | The camera is in my opinion the most important. I used to think it was the flashlight, but it ocurred to me, "what would I do if my main and backup failed?". In response to this question, I decided to go tunnel exploring, BLIND. I made it in and out OK. Granted, when there is truly zero light, it can get a bit disorienting. The camera is most important because of the motto "take only pictures, leave only footprints" Without a camera, there is no sharable way other than writing to express your experience.

| ' Some "harder-core" explorers will tell you stories are better than pictures will ever be, but I disagree.

| | | I usually head out with a torch and a multi tool. Haven't used the (admittedly crappy) multi tool yet. Oh, and I like bringing my friend Dave along with me, he can be a bit of a tool sometimes.

| | | I'd have to say that the most important tool is a flashlight or flashlights. A camera is a great tool for capturing those places for all to see , and for the memory of them. Without a flashlight though you wouldn't be able to see what you want to take the pictures of, not only that but obstacles and other things that may hinder your passage through a site.
