	I was just wondering if anyone has any suggestions of night vision goggles for people on limited budgets. I saw the ATN Viper is well priced but is it good? Well, thats about it. Post away please.

	In my experience anything easily afforded is not good quality. Anything under $500 is probably a first gen maybe a second. The newer the generation the better the optics, the better the resolution and the better the depth perception, and also the higher the price tag. Hahah thats funny and you were helpful but I need like names of products. All I know is that the ATN Viper is like 200 USD and its got decent quality and optical zoom but its only a monocular. Are those of any use at all?

	Well you can't get any depth perception from a monocular really, because you need two eyes for that in any light (try closing an eye and driving 2 miles). You want names, well there are many companies that manufacture NVG's so I sure don't know all the names of their respective products. I'd suggest doing a google search and picking what you like best. 	I was watching a thing on night vision a while ago and it was talking about there being two different types or two ways goggles can do it or something. Maybe one is better? Although they probably only use one kind for goggles. I don't know. I know nothing about this. Just thought I'd add that in.

	One point of using monocular is that you will not lose all your ability to see in the dark from both of your eyes if you have a look once in a while through monoscope. This is the only image intensifier device I have used, named something like Wild Big 3 (?). Worked quite well, although it was probably almost as old as I am... I have an ON-3.

This is a very-good 1st-gen binocular/light-amp rig made in Russia. The magnification is 1:1 with about a 30-degree FOV (not as cool as the NV in most games).

It can't hold a candle (pun intended) to 3rd-gen, but they're inexpensive (got mine for $240USD) and they work very well.
