| | | In the process of moving so all my shit is packed. I'm just interested to see what kinds of getups and setups you guys have for your stuff. I wear different things when I go out from my nifty batman like utility belt and dark blue utilities to regular jeans and street clothes, even half dressy on the odd occasion. Anyway, let the photo posting begin

| | | Since every poster so far is being a smart ass I guess I'll post my weekend gear. This is by no means 1/10 of my gear. I have tons and tons of shit. to include the night vision I left out. This is everything I will take with me. However not all of this will be going in with me. Depends on how much woods and people are around.
Sorry its so blury haveing some issues. [last edit 1/29/2005 7:13 AM by Mark - edited 1 times]

| | | Here is a piece of my gear... its my handy, dandy, trusty, rusty manhole puller. I made it in five minutes out of stuff I had kicking around in my car after my last popper broke and fell into a manhole. Its made from some cord, a piece of 1/2" pex water pipe for a handle and an allen key piece from one of those fold out deals with all the different sizes.. plus a little electrical tape..
it works fricken awsome plus it wraps up all small so its an easy fit into any utility belt(LOL) or pocket definitely an essential piece of my gear for underground explorations so thats my puller, if i had a pusher too, i'd be set. Shit its alot easier to pull those things up from above, than to push them off from below...

| | | Once in a blue moon I have taken my conceal carry to places that I could legally take it with me. 99% of the time I dont. I took a picture to compare size with the magazine, as I didnt have anything of standard size on hand. Someone laughed and said I should do that with everything. THe concept caught and I carry one in almost every place I go (not all as for massive legal trouble of federal property). If the cops catch me and find the magazine I'll explain it and deal with the consequences, but I dout they will be much.

Cave Clan are go!!
| | | | Re: Pictures of your gear <Reply # 14 on 1/31/2005 8:32 AM >
| | | This is my usual bare bones gear.
clothing: Camo overshirt*, black C/C t-shirt**, black jeans with some gray skate shoes that are comfortable. I carry a green canvas shoulder bag for all my equipment and other junk aswell (look closely at the badge I've sewn on it ) equipment: ICOM IC-40s UHF programmable radio (includes the freqs for some non-digital police units and local security contractors and pumps out a nice 5w), Sony Cybershot P-8 digital camera with extra memory cards. My trusty Nokia 3310 and there's a pack of cigarettes and a notebook in the bag. I do have a headlamp in there usually but I lost it when I was drink-draining down in Melbourne over the weekend. doH! extra: spare Uniden UHF radio for car trip convoys, fleecy rolled up blanket for overnight trips, rain coat and my wallet with $$. EDIT: How could I forget to mention my collection of fluro workmen vests, hard hats and trusty manhole keys. *I wear the camo because I don't mind if it gets dirty, torn and stinky. As the disruptive pattern hides blood, sweat stains and dirt really well so I don't look like a complete wacko on the bus/train home. **This is one of the few problems/benefits of being in the cave clan. Since we're the largest organised urban exploration group in Australia (and probably the world) many security companies understand our intentions as explorers but sometimes have a vendetta against us because we sneak past them. Which sometimes make it a hard decision to wear the shirt or not, as saying your C/C may be a "get out of trouble free" card or a "you're fucked mate" card. Oh well - good with the bad and strength through unity has worked sufficiently well for the clan over the past 19 years. [last edit 1/31/2005 8:38 AM by parallax - edited 2 times]

| | | My basic kit; 3D Maglite Petzl Tikka Plus headlight Canon Powershot A75 + flimsy tripod black Buff "tube" small backpack cellphone Sometimes a multitool, notebook etc. small things. And of course my wallet. I was tempted to make full out gear shot with climbing ropes, biners, black skimask, wirecutters etc., but I usually never need them, so this set up is more realistic and true, and I actually carry this gear with me.
