| | | Big, imposing place and creepy as hell. I saw it while riding through town during a visit in 2009 (my brother used to live down there). Anybody know if it's still standing and/or have photos of it?

| | | I suppose I could have googled it first. It was a psychiatric hospital. http://abandonedpl...l.com/1634572.html It's been renovated into a swanky hotel. Call me paranoid, but I wouldn't want to spend a night there. If nothing else, I'd creep myself out thinking of all the people who once suffered within its walls. http://www.hotelparqcentral.com/

I feel you on that. The other thing I see a lot is the conversion of these types of locations into senior living centers. Gah!! I wouldn't want to send a family member, or anyone else for that matter, to live at someplace like Linda Vista. Maybe it's just me....... ;)

| | | It used to be a really well known old hospital in a violent/sketchy part of Los Angeles. It was abandoned years ago and later became a popular place for film makers, etc to shoot movies, shows, music videos, do paranormal investigations, blah blah blah. JUST the type of place to send your aging parents to live, right? There's TONS of info on the place online.......I don't know how much of it is true, but this is what the location looks like now. "historic location" indeed ;) http://www.lindavistaseniorapts.com/

| | | Damn, that ABQ site was in a fairly gnarly area. Wonder what it took to get rid of the gang presence?

| | | I didn't think it was so bad; I used to drive by every day on my way to work (and walked the neighborhood numerous times). I'm shocked it's a hotel (I remember it being an active asylum)!

| | | Now, I may be confused here. I'm from the southern part of NM. Is this the South Valley place with all the latino gang tags and the bikers lounging about? [last edit 1/15/2014 6:51 AM by Jonsered - edited 1 times]

| | | I wish I'd had this hobby, more guts, and a less shitty long-distance entanglement when I was spending time in ABQ regularly (to visit said shitty long-distance entanglement) cause I bet this place was cool as hell before it was converted. Also, secondsies or thirdsies or fourthsies on the "that place would give me the willies as a hotel" business.
