I shoot music videos as a side job and any chance I get I write an abandoned location into the treatment in order to mix my love for abandonment and music together. Here are some places I've visited through the years.

Interesting Shotbydj. You must have to be in a location for a few hours, in a fairly large group of people, playing audio to lip sync to, which must be tense if you are doing so without permission. If POV video exploring is taken at a walking pace, and parkour at a running pace, this is at the opposite end of the spectrum. How do you make it happen?

Most of the places I shoot are in really remote locations with minimal to no security so once we get everyone inside no one ever really bothers us. Out of the probably 30 videos I've shot only once did the police show up and suprisingly they ended up just watching and then told us we could carry on without bothering us anymore.

This is awesome! I'd love to shoot some music videos in abandoned places. How'd you get going? Do you get paid to shoot?

Do you edit as well?

It started out as me just doing little short films in college and when a artist asked me to do his first music video back in 2009 it kind of took off from there. Everything is a paid shoot and we save a lot of the budget usually spent on set design or a location on just going in a rugged looking abandoned location.

Haha, wow... I recognize at least two of those locations and artists. Did you ever spend time at the NCSU cypher?
