| | | Nice app for saving locations. < on 9/5/2013 1:24 AM >
| | | I just downloaded this app called GPS Plotter for iPhone and its not too bad. Usually when I travel across state I have my locations plotted out along our route, but most of the time I run into sweet places on the way that I didn't know about. Even if you're short on time, GPS Plotter lets you mark your location with the coordinates multiple times in different locations, saves them, and can be exported to you PC in a map readable format. (I forgot the acronym.) If you're like me, and have a custom google map filled with places, this is definitely worth the 99 cents.

| | | Cool, thanks! I have all my points placed in Google maps. However, from what i've heard, upgrading to ios5 DELETES google maps and replaces apple maps. But of course, doesn't carry over all of your stored places to apple maps, causing you to lose them all. So therefore, I've never upgraded.

| | | I don't know about you Apple junkies but GPS essentials on android works great for me. The maps are well detailed & the waypoints are easy enough to load & modify

I dont use it to find me, just places to target. It finds my location easily most of the time but I still need to get an offline system to use. Most of the places I frequent have no 4G. I was looking into getting a handheld gps but I dont know if it just uses topo maps or sat. imagery. Topo maps wouldnt do me much good in some places

There is an app called GPS coordinates that I just found that seems to be pretty cool.

Tried searching for gps coordinates in the play store & no direct matches, some are just bogus & throw ads at you and no maps. Might be ios only

| | | I have one on iOS called Tracks. It's not bad. I use it to add GPS locations to my photos. I can import the file from Tracks into Lightroom since my camera doesn't have GPS.

| | | I just use a Garmin GPS II, turn it on and you have all your coordinates. Might be a /bit/ old and slow but it works fine.

| | | I have GPS Essentials, which does a lot of cool stuff, and allows you to pin locations and export a file to Google Earth. The thing I'm lacking that I really want is a widget that I can use to quickly place a marker. Nothing fancy. Still looking.
