A mishmash, and cyanide

Just got back from an awesome vacation in this area. Here's what I was up to when I wasn't hiking.

1. A neighbor told me that the tiny house this car was in front of once belonged to a miner, and that he raised four kids there. A calendar on the wall was dated 1977. And boy was this place falling apart! I think there had been a fire, plus lots of weathering.

You locals probably know this but I thought it was cool to find out that 55,000 people used to live in this area and the population's now less than 2000. Used to have extensive trolley and train system.

Here's the old Masonic Temple, sure wish I had some interiors to show you but couldn't get in.

Thanks for looking! Comments about processing and composition are always welcome!

Wow awesome location. The cupboard starting to fall through the floor is a really cool shot. Also the mine shaft in back corner in 10 is a nice touch.

Thanks Compton! That thing falling through the floor - it's actually a heavy old stove. There were definitely parts of the floor I didn't walk across...

Thank you, Punchy The last car picture is from a junkyard in Utah. As far as the train, it's sitting in a field in a town of 400 people so it would have been hard not to stumble across it but I was pretty excited to find it.

I really love all of these, Hotwired! You seem to have a knack for photographing house interiors. 2, 7, 8, and 10 are my favorites.
