|  | | | Heya guys, I live in the Tampa area, and have been wanting to get in to urbexing for years. However, I don't want to explore alone and don't have any friends that want to explore, so I'm here to look for a person (or group of people) to explore with. I can cover for gas money, and can provide transportation if absolutely necessary (no air conditioning in my car, so I ain't driving it for any long distance in this heat). I don't have any urbexing supplies besides a nice flashlight and a backpack, but I've got money to buy a respirator if needed and can probably scrape up any other supplies. A bit about me:
-Just turned 18
-I'm a musician and write music too
-I like classic rock and jazz
-I'm a pretty chill, quiet, kinda shy, low-maintenance type of guy.
-Want to urbex for the sights, not much of a photographer.
So there ya have it. So if you wanna explore with me, post here! And then from there we can get to know each other (since going into an abandoned building with a COMPLETE stranger is something I don't wanna do). I've got two locations that we could hit up. One's in New Port Richey, the other is in Tampa, but I've yet to actually drive by these sites in person (I mostly find sites through news articles and using Google maps street view), so it's prolly best if you/your group already has a place in mind.

sign up on Flurbex.com. Do some run's on your own first, and post photos (dont have to be good, just snapshots, I'm not a photographer myself). I cant speak for anyone else but I personally would never meet up with someone with no experience. Prove yourself. People may want to meet up for coffee or something and school you on some things to do (or not do), but you wont get on site training in this hobby. I wouldnt want to take someone new out who doesn't have an idea of what to do in certain situations (even simple stuff like if you are using a flashlight, keep it pointed down, Also use your phone as a flashlight, and only use a flashlight in a situation where you arent likely to be caught, and if you are ditch it, cause it can be a burglary tool, I know this from experience). Like I said, bite the bullet, get some stuff done, people will be more open to taking you out. Good Luck!

Good advice here. Go out and explore some stuff and post a few threads and let us get to know you a bit. Undoubtedly there are some people in your area to meet up with. Southeast Forum is rather forgiving of crappy photos ( Lord knows I've posted a few). Just want to get to know folks first, no one wants to go into abandoned buildings with a creepy dude type. My advice.

| | | | Ah, I had a feeling that I should go out and do things myself first, prove myself and all. It's just I just read an article about tips for getting in to urbex and the first thing on the list was "Don't go alone" so I figured it'd be worth a shot xD I totally understand though.
