| | Couple of abandoned houses. < on 3/27/2013 4:33 AM >
| | | Haven't been up to much exploring as of late, so here's some misc. pictures of two abandoned houses in two very different states of decay. The rattier home was built sometime in 1945, and has been abandoned for quite some time. The other was built in 1980, and was only abandoned around 2006.
As you can see, something really terrible happened in one half of this house. Looks like the roof caved in a while back.
This house is in fairly decent shape. Only minimal scrapping damage despite the easy access. Lots of interesting wood and stonework. Seemed to be a fairly nice little place, in a rather scenic area too. No idea why it was abandoned. It makes a wonderful home to the field mice now though.
Found a weird dirt pile outside the bathroom.

| | | the fireplace shot is nice.
When I say I'm 'clean and sober', it means I've showered and I'm headed to the liquor store. |

| | | Some nice shots there. But that second house I swear is looking like I've seen it here before. I think Captain_Slow may have been here once. And agreed nice fireplace shot.

| | | If you go back to that first house in a few weeks there should be irises growing all over the place. I've got some beautiful dark purple ones that I relocated to my house a few years ago.

| | | Went back to the first house on a whim today. Didn't see any Irises but that might be due to the cold we've had. Forgot how much rat shit was on the floor of this place. There was a 4 sq. ft. area in the house that was just covered in pellets.

| | | That's too bad, the irises were beautiful a few years ago. I do know that I wasn't the only one relocating flowers.

| | | That place could use a dose of wildflowers for sure! Also anyone have any ideas about why one half of the house collapsed but the other is still intact?

| | | I'd imagine that for whatever reason the roof on that side developed a leak and over time between water from rain and ice freezing, it just fell in. After that the structure just gave out.
