I often ask locals what to see when I'm travelling. It works. If you want to do all the exploring yourself, without other people being in the loop, why come on UER?
When you're travelling, you don't have a lot of time to find locations yourself. Hell, if you're like me, you don't even like that part. I'm a tourist! I like to take photos and to see new things. I don't see the problem with that.
All that said, the OP really should've looked around and PMed some locals. People take it much better when you do some research yourself and show some dedication.
