| | | This is my take on our quick visit to a mill down south of Atlanta with Andyhall Explictly and Amishdelight. The place still has some very nice details and the history of the struggle to unionize the workers is well worth reading through. Child labor laws, workers union rights, the end of an era indeed.

And I'm also loving the B&W version of the shot as well. Now I gotta see that movie Andy, thanks.

| | | Interesting. What is #7/9? Looks like an oven, but what of the round door with circular holes?

It is a boiler. Typically each of those many "circular holes" would have a pipe coming out and would carry steam to a different part of the mill. The steam could then be used to power mechanization or for heat.

When I say I'm 'clean and sober', it means I've showered and I'm headed to the liquor store. |

| | | Thanks everyone, it was a beautiful place even if the soft wet wood floors were a bit sketchy.

Ha ha thanks. I think everyone walked away with at least 90 shots of those stupid things. They must have felt quite raped

| | | You are nuts for going on that roof. This place could collapse at any moment. Next time you guys come down this way, there are a 3 or 4 more mills to see not too far from these two. I have not been in any of them, but one for sure is accessible. The others seem semi active (warehouses) or close to active stuff.

| | | Great set as usual. I would love to read the history please forward. My brother does a lot of work with recycled wood and every time I see a place like this rotting away I can't help but wonder why more of the old wood cannot be recycled before it's unusable. Such a waste.
