Nice pics although it probably wouldn't have hurt your health to take off the respirator for a few seconds ;)
When I was down there in October they were filming some movie and had off duty cops parked inside the fence. Was able to get some shots inside before they started to walk around and I bailed out.

Nice pics. Only ever run into other explorers in there. One group was filming and had machetes... A little unsettling. I see the one side of the train cr has graffiti again (cleaned off for the recent movie filming).
I believe the movie that was filming was the latest Hunger Games film. [last edit 3/6/2013 4:12 AM by Abert - edited 1 times]

Yeah this place is extremely not hazardous to your health. We came across a group of people doing a photo shoot with a bride and groom there. They had piles of props and lighting equipment. Interesting sight to see.

I heard part of fast five was filmed there as well. I bet that train got tagged the second filming stopped. Finally went through the train and that's went we ran into to taggers in progress

They did do some fast five filming in there. Surprisingly, that side of the train stayed graffiti free for a month or so. Went through there a few weeks after the filming and it was still clean, but there was bunch of new stuff on the walls they scrubbed.

Train yards are kind of risky. They still employ guards otherwise known in trainyard lingo as "bulls" - that's the name train jumping hobo's back in the Great Depression gave them - I got jumped by one back in the college day photographing on a train yard. A humungous asshole. My Korean war era dad used to come across them a lot as he would jump trains and ride them to go to chicago and back in from downstate illinois. Dad's a very interesting guy. Tons of stories. Be safe there bro, watch out for the bulls haha.

Yeah, definitely not hazardous to your health. I think the brick throne was done around the time of the newly wed photo shoot. I don't remember it being there in July, but was there in January. It could also be from 'Catching Fire'. ;)
