|  | | | Here's a North Carolina favorite that is going, going, just about gone. I was going to go ahead and namedrop this location since it's being demolished, but the adjacent two story building is part of same manufacturing complex. So I'll keep my mouth shut. But here's a few shots from when this building was coming down.

The list of hazards in the database entry for this place cracks me up, as it mentions "unsafe flooring" followed by "really unsafe flooring." Much of the floor here was collapsing even before demolition.

I drove by recently, and everything looks pretty much exactly the same, like it was torn half way down and then demolition just stopped... Anyone have any idea what's going on here? I'm assuming that someone ran out of money.

Sorry, don't mean to be a smartass. I hear it's been locked up pretty tight after a recent fire, but I lucked out and ran into a guy who was going in to do some work there, and after talking to him for a little bit, he let me come along with him.
Not a whole lot to see, really. The first floor is mostly filled with trash. There's a basement that's pitch black, and a sub-basement that's flooded. About all that's worth looking at is the remains of the assembly line and some other stuff up on the second floor. And there's not much of that.
I did not, btw, see any offices at the front of the building. They were inaccessible from where we were.

flyingwhale, the other building, pre-demolition, was one scary place. Some seriously collapsing floors. Benched_it has some cool shots from there that we might be able to talk him into posting some day...

At least the main building is--all that's left there is the elevator shaft. I can confirm that the building that remains is locked up, and I can also confirm that it's not without tenants. Church was is full session when I was there last Sunday.
