|  | | | For my very first outing I went to 5 different sites I had slowly taken notice of around town over the years. Most were boring barns, but the gorgeous 1875 Colonial Revival home was the one site that made it all worthwhile. It suffered from a fire back in 2009 and has been left unattended since. In researching this building I found out from public minutes of some city meeting that it will likely be demolished at some point in the next couple months. Unfortunately, I only had my camera phone to take photos with but I do have a nicer camera and intend to return to the site and reshoot this historic building before it is demolished. The buildings location on a popular road means it gets a lot of traffic and is therefore almost completely untouched by any sort of illicit activity or occupation.

3. Just inside the front door is the main stairwell that I didn't risk traversing and an excellent example of an interior Colonial archway.

4. The room on the left immediately after entering had a nice fireplace untouched by the blaze on the second floor and a mirror miraculously unshattered.

5. On the immediate right after entering is a pool room with the pool table still in place. Photo taken from outside the room hence the problematic reflections.

6. Beyond the pool room is another nice fireplace with a coffee pot on its mantle.

7. Back outside I had to stop and respect the hand carved granite lintels. You just don't see this attention to detail anymore.

|  | | | Incredible shooting here, cell-phone camera or otherwise. Mind if I ask what state/area this was in? Your first post makes me assume North Carolina, but I figured I should just check. Seems like the sort of thing I would love to look into myself, if I make it nearby before demo begins.
Also, I interpreted this as an introductory post, so welcome to UE! Good to see I'm not the only newbie within a 200 mile area. ;D
