It is a mistake to think you can solve any major problems just with potatoes.

No kidding on the pit falls, use extreme caution. There are doors that open into empty abysses so be especially careful then.

I have actually heard Rattlesnakes in on e of the silos I explored. This maybe a problem for SW explorers only, but I highly recommend making yourself familiar with the wildlife of the area. I also think a respirator wouldn't be a bad idea but all the silo's I have been in (4 total) seem to be constructed of only metal and steel.

Must also watch out for mole people... better bring a gun... and a dawg.

The amount of glocking that has been going on in there lately is astronomical, fucking everything has a bullet hole in it now! Why the hell you would carry a rifle or shotgun all the way to silo #2 is beyond me.

And a word of caution, do not enter silo #2s tunnels without a respirator. It used to be "ok" in there but some ass with a rifle punched a bunch of holes in the fire door between the silo and the blast door. Which so happens to have been filled with a white powder that most likely contains asbestos. It looks like someone antiqued the whole area, its beyond easy to kick up into the air.

Silo #1 is completely flooded all the way to the tunnel. Its been higher because that whole damn area is full of water.

Silo #2s water level is pretty low.

Didnt hit up silo #3 because well..... that way sucks

I've personally never used a respirator in a silo. It isn't a bad idea at all and is a great tool to have, but if you don't already have one I wouldn't worry about it. Bring a pair of gloves though!

I was definitely joking.

I encountered a rattle snake in B2 last summer, and he was very much alive even though he was tiny. Not sure how he survived in an absolute dark environment.

For your enjoyment, here's a video of me jumping like a little girl after poking what I thought was a dead rattle snake with my Maglight

Ive never used a respirator in a building period. Hell I dont even own one. BUT the atmosphere and amount of loose asbestos in Silo #2s tunnel is far beyond anything Ive seen in a building or mine in the last 10 years. Without seeing the conditions, how in the sam hill can you make a determination as to whats ok? Anyone can do as they please BUT I intended this as a warning based on experience. Its like doing lines of the shit in there now since that whole fire door core now coats everything down there. Far from the normal conditions in the place....

I wasn't doubting you, and you are right I haven't seen the conditions. I was just throwing in my two cents. Thanks for the heads up, and good luck to you meanwhileinfoco!

I more than likely will go with a friend, and pack a climbing rope and a harness as an absolute just in case option. But, I am just toooooooo excited for this adventure! How is security around the deer trail silo anyways?

They've got dogs man. All you really need to worry about is the neighbors hanging out on their back porches making sure their llamas don't run away.

I'll bring my own personal llama: Karl, he wears a hat and eats hands. He's pretty vicious.
