| | | I just acquired a beautiful Motorola Radius SP50+. However, I don't know how to use it because I didn't get the instructions with it. Can anyone help me out with that? I have no knowledge of these fancy machines, things like TX, OPT, MON... I don't even know what that shit means, let alone how to use it. Any help would be appreciated.

| | | I have some old beat up Cobra FRS jobbies and a much nicer Icom T22A. The FRS is great for exploring, although the scenarios where they are actually useful are somewhat sparse for me. The Icom gets used quite a bit.

for that radio you will need a morotola RIB (Radio Interface Board) and programming software. The "MON", or monitor, button performs two functions. It will temporarily disable the PL/DPL feature so that you can monitor all the activity on a particular channel. It can also be used to check the volume level of your radio. The "OPT", or option, button will perform one of three separate functions depending on how you prefer to have your radio programmed: Channel Scan, Tight/Loose Squelch, or High/Low Power. The "TX", or transmit, button will preform one function. It is the transmit button when you want to transmit communications over the radio.
