Whats up ya'll. Here's some rusty stuff I've been shooting with my Droid Charge. Edited everything with PicsPlay Pro and Pixlr-o-Matic on my phone. Plan on getting a "real camera" and doing some heavier exploring when I get back home from work in a few days. So keep in mind Smartphoneography is just a temporary thing for me! Any feedback is greatly appreciated. Trying to get my style and composition adjusted as I'm still pretty new to the game.

Cheers!

Not bad for a smart phone pic. What kind of new hardware are you going to invest in?

Thanks! And thats an excellent question. I've been looking on craigslist, and also reading a few different forums on this as Im just starting off. I've read that your basic Canon Rebel XSI DSLR is a great starter camera. I spoke with my father who is a big time photo geek and he agreed with this as well so long as the camera comes with the IS kit (image stabilization). He says with the type of shooting I'll be doing, the IS kit would be a must unless I want a bunch of blurry/shaky pics. Ive found these cameras, as well as the T3 1200D, with IS kit, to be going for around $400 dollars with the 18-55mm lens. Ive been told a tri-pod is also a must, but may have to wait and save up for that for in the near future.

These are awesome photos, if you hadn't told us I wouldn't have thought for a second they came from a phone.

You could try investing in a miniature tripod for the time being, A lot of them are under $100. Just make sure you get one that's stable-a lot of cameras tend to be super heavy in the front.
