under the bridge.
tonight i went out on my 2nd true solo ue night outing.
at 2am i parked at the skatepark down by the river and set out. at least 4 or 5 cops crept right past me during my outing. one time i was even in the middle of the road taking a long exposure shot! i figured theyd stop but i was in the hobo part of town with a backpack. i fit right in.

i originally set out to walk across a seperate bridge which is a 100+ yr old abandoned railroad bridge. not feeling it tonight i decided to walk along the waterfront instead. finally i get to the bottom of the next bridge to the west and low and behold- scaffolding. the only problem is, its lit up like a mf and at an active construction site. i scan around and see maybe 10 trucks etc parked there. so i sneak around to see how many people are there and if i can get up the 50-75ft scaffolding without being seen. i didnt see any people there but i saw someones boots just sitting in front of thier truck wtf?

seeing no one i decide im going for it. i walk 100 feet away and hide something in the bushes as to not compound my construction site trespass charge. i also hid my pack at a separate location. i only had my batting gloves, headlamp, and camera. i found a barrier and put it up next to the fence and was over in record time. going up the scaffolding was kind of sketch as you could easily fall to your death. so i went very surely in my movements and had my 3 points at all times.

im starting to get much better with heights now because i was moving right along the whole time. the walkway was see through metal and i was just having a stroll. i used to always look down and picture the fall but tonight i was just very aware of my surroundings and my body and was 100% at ease. anyway i only made it halfway across! i got to where the walkway isnt see through anymore and happen to glance down river. A SEARCHLIGHT!!!!!! oh shit!!! i didnt even look enough to distinguish what it was, i just knew in my head it was the coast guard and they had me surrounded and i was screwed. i bolted lol. i was pretty much running along the bottom of the bridge. well right when i got to the scaffolding i look again and its a barge lolololol. at that point i just figured id come back another time ad be glad to escape the "coast guard" plus i didnt know when the workers would be back.

i only took a few pics, i was there mainly taking the place in personally. it was real windy and my long exposures were not coming out clear. this is my favorite of the night and i just figured id show it. pics or it didnt happen.
i got another awesome outing planned for this weekend so fingers crossed for that...

Well played sir. Eschaton and I also scouted the scaffolding on the Indy side. easy access. But we have you beat. We crossed the ACTIVE train bridge in broad daylight and roamed around Shippingport Island and in the ACoE area. Got busted by the cops for it to and got off damn near scott-free, minus the fines of course.

I'm considering going on my first lone explore soon since I'm working about a mile away (usually an hour drive from home) from a psychiatric hospital that I know pretty well. The only thing holding me back is that I'm already on non reporting probation in that district court from when I got caught exploring before...

You'll be in a world of shit if you get caught again before that's up.

Luckily, before I gave into my temptations, I got transferred to downtown Detroit. Now all the temptations can be given into without any fear of repercussions!
