Bracket and blend--how'm I doin?

Simple check-in critique. I feel I've improved drastically at B&B but I've still got a ways to go, as always in shooting and editing. What suggestions might anyone have to improve my lighting?

No real critiques that you didn't mention in your image titles but the "A Light" is an awesome pic!

They're looking good man. Sometimes you still can still leave some white in a shot so your eye has something to follow and be directed to. The Dark one is a pretty good example of that, but I think you have some blowout noise or something on that right hand side you could probably still get rid of.

For the Mid, it looks like you used a round feather brush for the square window. (think round peg, square hole. It's hard to get that right with those exact tools) For stuff like that I tend to select the white in the window, and find a decent expand / feather combo that gets the color and detail back in without a noticeable border. You can even cut and paste and then make that partially transparent if no white looks to weird. From there the dark to light sometimes still doesn't look convincing and I will then pick a huge brush (400+) and set it at 10-25% and slowly erase the darker shot until I have a nice even blend that doesn't have noticeable edging. Takes a bit to get used to doing that, but when you get it, the shot just looks more like you saw it, instead of how the sensor did.

Keep it going man, you'll get the hang of it. Photoshop takes a lot of time to get used to the tools, and how to efficiently use each one for each unique situation where it works best. Look up a couple of how-to's and try out some stuff on your own photos.

^Thanks, man. I always tend to struggle with the areas right at the very border of the white. Part of the issue I'm having is that the aura gets caught from previous blends and looks terribly unrealistic, then when all the shots are into one I take the time to clone.

But lately I've gotten frustrated with how my lens captures random colors in the aura and have instead been selecting the area, isolating the color, and attempting to change the saturation, lightness, and hue. It works well but not flawlessly. In the mid picture alot of what you're seeing on the walls that doesn't look right is a combination between cloning and the previously mentioned method.

One thing I'm wondering, will getting a different filter get rid of that awful randomly placed glare I get in some shots and not others?

Ah, I gotcha. A filter might work. Or it could possibly be the coating on the lens itself. Or maybe, just a limitation of different light levels on the sensor you have and or the glass you have. I'm not 100% on that. But I guess the more you learn about it and discover how it happens, the better off you might be at fixing it and keeping it from appearing in your shots.

I do know that you'll have the hardest time fixing stuff like this with mid-day sun in the Summer (no cloud cover). Early morning or late evening gives you the most diffused light which would could be easier to work with. Winter time with the sun being the lowest would make this even more apparent.

A light is by far your best image here, Personally I would have closed the door enough in a dark to block the blown out window, with the door oped just a little it will still be the brightest part of the image and be a focus point. That's just my thought
