Today in 105 degree heat I went with my friend to the "Ice House". It's a 13 story abandoned ice house thats nearly 100 years old. I've pretty much been everywhere in there like 10+ times now and I feel like its mine :) I gave him a little tour and history lesson. It was awesome. When we got to the top roof I found something an explorer left. It's a black and green Energizer L.E.D head lamp and compared to my 5 dollar Harbor Freight one it's pretty freaking sweet. The strange thing is I was there maybe 2 days before and it wasn't there. Anyway thanks for the gift! Unless you like rubbed your balls on it or something

Yeah when I spotted it I was excited, then I thought its probably broke or a piece of crap. When I grabbed it and it worked and was pretty bright I was like "hell yeah!". I cleaned it with some alcohol so all the owners sweat or any other contaminates should be off it. I should've payed it forward and left my crap one for the next guy to find.

Congrats on your new headlamp! But you have made 42 posts in the past 72 hours that your account has been active and not one has contained a capital letter or proper punctuation.

EDIT - SORRY, I'LL GET ON THAT!

You really need to rethink what you're doing. You joined a new forum to make new impressions upon people and those impressions are not positive. In just three days you've already had people calling for you to be banned.

You're flooding the forum with trivial posts, ignoring advice from seasoned members about your spelling and punctuation and seem to be fixated upon guns (the Second Amendment and all). You may be in the wrong hobby and on the wrong forum if you intend on conducting yourself as you have been. This is about urban exploring and photography, it isn't about annoying the shit out of people.

Given a choice between listening to people and learning from them or continuing to piss people off and be banned, wouldn't you rather the former?

Nothing wrong with that, everyone and their dog (and their dog's sister) should have a gun or two on them. I see your point, though.

That's why I put in the comment in brackets, I know Americans are passionate about their guns. I'm just uncertain if the OP is interested in UE or not.

Heehee, I'm Canadian.
I know some people who go to unrelated forums and spew their love of guns all over the Lady Gaga forums or stuff like that, and that can be annoying.
I don't think that's the case here...

"You're flooding the forum with trivial posts, ignoring advice from seasoned members about your spelling and punctuation and seem to be fixated upon guns (the Second Amendment and all)"

You have a lot of posts and some of them have a confrontational or brash tone. Every post should sparkle on here, I suppose.

You also don't use proper punctuation, spelling, and grammar, and people on here seem to be sticklers about that.

Itz portant to yous these things n mack em up, dont smack it up use those commas etc they might seem like shady bi-atches but think of it like this yo - town planners keeping the village nice for the rest of us peeps so wyall dont have to read text like this here chunk

Also, some people are annoyed by the fact you mention your Glock a lot...

I am glad to see that Buddy started a thread that is actually about and exploration and exploration equipment.

I've disagreed with Buddy publically about the gun issue. I'm pro gun but I think it is a terrible idea to carry while exploring. I also think Buddy has come across as sounding flippant about carrying a firearm. Firearms are srs business. The decision to carry a gun is not one which should be taken lightly. Shooting another human being is not something to joke about, at least not in a public forum where people don't know the poster well and where sarcasm may be easily misunderstood.

I think Buddy has sometimes come off as a wannabe tough guy. I don't think that belongs here and I've told him that publically and privately.

However, he did not start the gun issue in this thread. This thread was on-track of what belongs on this forum.

I am a big fan of cheap and free equipment! I like to have things I don't have to worry about losing or breaking. I have two pieces of exploring/camping equipment that I have found:

My back-up headlamp is an Energizer that Funtrawox found.

My best find is a CRKT lock blade knife that I found cliped to a fence in a cemetary.

A few years ago there was a fisherman. He was somewhat well known and respected for his ability to reel in beautiful catches. The waters he floated in were calm with little competition from other anglers. This pleased him immensely.

Unfortunately over time the aquatic space he once felt the master of became more crowded and polluted. The rapidly aging sportsmen was no longer to garner the respect and admiration he once wallowed in. Younger and sometimes more talented trawlers now inhabited his space and he sank into a deep depression. Some say he was even urinated on by others and this triggered a severe mental illness.

This unfortunate rod and hook wielding soul has not been heard of in some time. Rumor has it though that sometime he will throw his old and tired bait into the depths with hopes to catch some attention from the now overpopulated seas.

THE END.

10+ trips and all you got was a photo of a headlamp?

How about sharing some stories of it with us? Maybe some history? And how about a handful of crappy cell phone pics so we can see what the place looks like? This site is definitely all about a community where we share our experiences with others.
