Note that we're all a pretty welcoming bunch, depending on your signal-to-noise ratio. If you don't have much to contribute and don't say much, fine. If you have a lot of good to contribute and also run your mouth off, welcome aboard. It's up to you to walk the line.

So you have a problem with Mozilla themselves?

I'd suggest you go here...
http://www.mozilla.org/contact/
...and tell them just what about them you have problem with.

Is it their business model?
Is it ethics?
Is it their release schedule?

Tell them, not me.

Oh good, my slow clap processor made it into this thing.

I have no problems with AdBlock Plus version 2.1.1 and this page.
I have problems with some flash games on Facebook, but who needs flash games anyway?

Maybe you need to update FireFox or AdBlock Plus.

No problems with ABP, but you can also add this site to its exclusion list.

Buddykermit:

The problem is in your router. Sounds like you may have picked up some spyware or malware that has stored settings preventing the page from loading properly. This is a common problem that most people are not aware of - that your router can actually be affected by malicious software. Do a hard reset on your router, which will likely involve holding the reset button down (use something non-metallic like a toothpick) for 30 seconds, unplugging the power (while still holding the button down) and plugging back in for another 30 seconds. Unfortunately you will have to log in to your router (mine for example is http://192.168.0.1 for DLink brand. Search google for your router log in), and set up a new connection name and a new password, because the hard reset will leave your router publically broadcasting with a generic name and no security.

Not only will the websites work, but you'll probably be surprised be how fast Internet is working again.

I don't think `Ground State` really knows what he is talking about. Unless you have an open Wifi and you allowed outside access to the control panel on your router (which you probably did not considering how you describe your IT experience), your router may not be the problem. If it works in other browsers and not in Firefox, then you already have narrowed down the source.

Considering you have disabled ABD and it seemed to have solved the issue, adding an exclusion rule is not hard, consult the manual (Tools -> AdBlock Plus -> Disable on uer.ca)

Crypton's intuition is right - I don't. And if is saying it like that, then he probably does indeed know what HE is talking about! So go with his instructions. However, I had the same problem, except that it was with hotmail and not UER. Hard reset on the router cleared it up, for what reason I don't know. Perhaps it wasn't the router reboot but rather the complete operating system reboot done with it, but surely you've tried that!

Now you didn't do a reboot of the router.
A reboot can be done by removing power of the router for about 30 seconds and than switching the power back on for the router.
As routers don't have power switches, this means you have to unplug the power supply.

As far as a router can get infected with malware, this is not possible, as the router can't really save programs. In case your router was infected, a hardware reset wouldn't have done anything good, as this would have only deleted your settings and passwords, but not the program that runs the router.
But as I said, this isn't possible, unless you use a computer as a router, and people that do so, know how to make sure that they will not get malware on there computer/router. They would run Linux anyway as Windows isn't a great server/router thing.

Any questions?

Yes please, especially on the Surfboards. But let's start with Cisco PIXes first
