Hi all,

My name's Calvin and this is my first post on the UER forums. I live in Colorado Springs and go to school in Wisconsin. I've been going to abandoned buildings for 3 or 4 years now, and recently I've kind of combined my love of abandoned buildings with my new storm chasing hobby, which works out really well when a storm isn't as exciting as I'd hoped. Anyway, here are some shots from my most recent trips:

This one was out near Pueblo. I found it while I was chasing a storm that totally flooded the valley nearby. The house is riddled with bullet holes.

From inside that house...

This is the front of a half-demolished/half-burned? school building in a tiny town east of Limon. Right in the middle of the town, but no one seems to care if you go in. The gym in the middle of the building seems to now be something like the town dump.

From inside the school.

From a certain abandoned power plant south of Pueblo I suspect we're all aware of...

This is me and my metal band in a house in Wisconsin. I'm the tall one in the center top window. The house has a lot of cool junk in and around it, including a dismantled grand piano and a bunch of ancient semi-electric arcade games. It's right next to the highway and no one seems to care about trespassing (hence the 17 people in the house). Oh, also, it's on the same property as an amazing junkyard. Need to go back and do a proper shoot someday.

This one's a whole ghost town out near Kit Carson county in Colorado. Found out about it in one of Kenneth Jessen's Ghost Towns books (an excellent Urbex resource). It's been hard to figure out how much people care about trespassing; on the one hand, the property has an official landmark sign talking about its history and you can just walk into nearly every building. On the other hand, the second time I went there one of the houses was locked and there were a couple new no trespassing signs. Be wise and watchful, I guess.

From inside the ancient, boarded-up schoolhouse adjacent to the ghost town property. All the windows were boarded up, except someone had broken into one of the windows and we just climbed through. There was a whole box of clay pigeons in the main room, which was already a mess, so we decided to toss a few at the wall.

Why the fuck would you go to school in WI, and where?

I drink gasoline for breakfeast and beer for dinner!

For cello performance. I go to Lawrence University. Don't have my own car, though, so my exploration has been pretty limited so far.
