What's the big deal? You're a mountain climber! Just make sure you have a bunch of other mountain climbing gear in the car to back up your claim ;)

| | | i made mine by the instructions on here, i like it, but would like to find a way to secure the tines together and make sure the rope wont fall off (i havent had it happen yet but wouldn't risk it).

| | | Those cheap hooks have been oin ebay for years. I'm pretty sure I've seen them quoted with about 900lb strength, but it's been years so don't quote me on that. Also, they usually come with 20 feet of parachute cord so rope replacement is a must.
As for climbing down, don't use the hook. Tie a knot. There is one called the thieves knot in which you have 2 lengths of the same rope running down the wall. One is very secure. The other undoes the whole knot and pulls it all down. For obvious reasons I would suggest tieing a thing rope to the end of the pull rope and sending that down the wall. You wouldn't want to grab the wrong one by mistake!
