Yes folks are right, we generally don't discuss locations beforehand for obvious reasons. As far as Festicle goes we try to keep everything fairly low key and do some simple locations for new explorers. Its a balancing act between introducing new people to some basic stuff and yet still trying to keep it interesting enough for the folks who have come out to a few events and are more experienced. Generally we see how many people show up than break out into groups based on experience level and interest. If you find folks you click with, exchange info and keep exploring and posting. We've been doing this for something like two years now on a semi-regularly basis and this format seems to work well. Festicle is an opportunity to meet new people with all types of backgrounds, skill levels, interests and exchange some tips on photography. Hope that helps.
Sorry to hear about your friend dinamn3atl. We never really know how long we get to spend here, hope you can spend some good time with him before he leaves.

Generally we're too busy implanting lasers in our sharks to figure out where we're going.
