I'm sorry, all I really comprehended was the topless part. Were they hot? And if so can someone direct me to these pictures?

Scarf down a jaw dropping blog entry from bad ass explorer, TunnelBug http://www.terrast...-abandoned-missile here[/url]. I personally wouldn't dream of going but, if you have iron balls and the stealth of a super ninja, good luck

Sorry to jump in here, but are you sure I *know* some members shot the insides of some II launchers out here in Cali. They just have to be left topless so the spy sats can take pics and KNOW nothing is inside....

I was talking about the Tucson ring of Titan IIs. That was what the OP was originally taking about. All the launchers in this group were filled. And yeah, I wouldn't go near those in Cali. I would prefer to stay out of federal rape you in the ass prison.

Blah Blah Blah. Shut up and open the damn door.

"Off Limits" showed one of the filled in ones that was being dug out by some guy. Didn't give the location of course.

Any truly determined person doesn't really need an excavator. That's just how lazy people get things done quickly.

If you really want something, you'll find a way to make it happen.

Egh. I've spent about 3 months of my life total in a missile silo (to include right now) - I can think of better places to explore. ;p

The Titan museum had a map on the wall that I took a picture of. That helped me locate one that was open. The museum is one of about 12 sites in the Tucson/Green Valley area of Arizona. Some are on public land and there's nobody around. Some people have excavated them with power construction equipment like back hoes.

Dang. That's just sad seeing those. What a waste.

If this is near Tucson I would love to explore this with whoever knows. I will be passing through in mid July.

It was either 571-2 or 571-3. I was lucky I found it. Only the control bldg was accessable. Everything else was blocked by tons of earth. No electronics, no consoles.

This was a few years ago, looks like the same one RomanKam posted. I had the sites on my gps (there are coords all over the internet), and we just checked them as we drove down the highway until we found an open one.

Well I guess this is as good a place as any to announce my return.....I've been away for quite some time!

The silo that the OP is speaking about is, as Jonno eluded to, sealed for the foreseeable future. The number is 570-3 and you're not getting in there without an excavator. We enjoyed it while it was open(EPIC) but unfortunately, I fear it may be sealed forever since it sits on state owned land. You can see the pictures in the DB using the link below, I've got a ton more pictures that I should upload.

Now, for the open silo you seek, there are indeed limited options. I won't be making it easy for you but there are two accessible silos in Arizona. Both have their unique challenges and one comes with the very real chance of going to jail. Happy hunting!!!

HAHA Yep we know of that has goto jail ticket. ;)
Been a while bud hope you are well man.

Here are my pics from that outing:

Well I did some research and narrowed down six possibly open silos
570-2
570-5
570-8
571-5 (owned by national forest service but you could probably sneak into the property at night)
571-8
and 571-9

Nice job on narrowing that list down so easily for everyone out there who doesn't care to take the time to do the research, and can now just take it off your post.

Nice work.
