yes, yes i did shoot with a potato. we've been through this on other posts. these pixs were taken with an old school sony mavica fd200 whose film was etched onto floppy disks. FLOPPY DISKS! let's see you do better with a crappy camera, recording on 3.5 floppy disks!

Lovely potato pics

A mirage is not an optical illusion. It is a real phenomenon, and one can take photographs of it. The interpretation of the image, however, is up to the fantasy of the human mind.

I just sold it on ebay....i used to use it at concerts...got me plenty of "WOW!" factor, taking me backstage to almost all the shows i attended because the band was like "How awesome!" and wanted a closer look at the camera and floppy's! It was a great run while it lasted. I had like 1 floppy disk left, and since they don't make them anymore, i knew i had to move on! LOL!

Nice, all my early digital shots from AK were on a Mavica, I even managed to get some semi-artsy shots with it by accident. UAF had loaners at the library, I didn't get my own digital camera until about 2004.

The cameras in question:

They even experimented with CD-based cameras for a while

Turn off the internet and go play outside.

sweet! never saw the cd camera. I had the first - third edition. I think i may have the first generation around somewhere. the second died, the third was the one in question. it had a video, but no sound capability that was stored on a small drive. It was a fun little camera...thanks for posting your shots. I'm surprised at some of the people out there who expect we all can afford the greatest equipment. i just want people to know about the cool places one can see at the different locations. some shots are cooler than others, but it's the journey that counts for me. thanks for posting everyone!

Frickin pain in the ass when the disk door comes off inside the camera too, I had two Mavicas that I had to disassemble to get a floppy door out of... hundreds of little screws..

me too!!!! That door...i ended up taking off the metal protector on the floppy disk so it wouldn't get caught on the door! Then there would be the perfect shot you know you got, only to down load it and it's all pixilated and missing and the rest of the shots on the disk are lost! UGH! It was getting out of control, and when the industry said they weren't making 3.5 floppy's anymore, i knew i needed to move on!

here's me using the camera at eastern state penn.
