How do the police respond to breaking and entering (most of us urbexers) < on 2/13/2012 7:08 PM >
For those of you who have had the police roll up on a op, how did they respond? Im trying to get a general idea of police SOP for things because knowing is half the battle -Pointman

How do police respond to B&E... Remember what happened when all those people UE'ed all those cities recently? Well, they will respond in the same way.
The Durango '95 purred away a real horrowshow - a nice, warm vibraty feeling all through your guttiwuts. And soon it was trees and dark, my brothers, with real country dark.

Not necessarily my experiences. But I have heard everything from "Hey, you shouldn't be in there. You could get hurt." To horror stories far reaching arrest. Like, I don't know...having the dogs unleashed on them & then nearly bleeding to death from the wounds they received. So somewhere in that area. Have fun on ur next high risk explore. The question is not when are we gonna stop, It's who's gonna stop us?

Well didnt quite mean to make this thread into 4chan. but anyway i meant like how they operate when they get a call thats related to what we do. When they were called on us they looked around for signs of entry and listened then left. anyone else have any stories of how they operate? -Pointman

I've seen a single police car drive past a location. Also seen eight police cars, police helicopter and K-9 at another location. The more severe the police respond the more likely you're going to be arrested.

If you've got no way out, pull the sympathy card.
My one time ever getting caught was unusually lucky. It was almost Christmas and I knew the sergeant's nieces. This got me the Christmas gift of GTFO.

You know you're fucked when you hear the chopper, the barking, and see a perimeter set up just for you. Your security measures were inadequate. How unfortunate for you.

I had a kinda-sorta similar encounter with LEO:
Clean record + I didn't fuck anything up + I'm just a risk-taking nerd + You're from out of town? = GTFO of town and never come back When twilight draws near, when you are pushed to the very limits of your soul, when it seems that all you have left are the dead remnants of the fabric of your life: -- BELIEVE

When police show up, it's most likely bc some security guard in a shack somewhere saw you on a hidden cam or you tripped some alarm and they were too chicken shit to approach you themselves so they called the cops. When the cops get there the security guard will escort them to your last-known whereabouts and if you are unlucky enough to be seen the cop will shout "freeze -police" or some such shit then apprehend you. If this happens, you are caught. Don't try to run as it will result in a resisting arrest charge in addition to your trespassing ticket and that may require the police to take you to the station. At this point, it is likely you will be cuffed while the cop checks your background. If everything is in check, you will be ticketed and released with a mandatory court date. If you have outstanding parking tickets or warrants you are in for a long day.

Like the others have said, I've had everything from a single cop driving around the outside of the property and then leave, to 9 squad cars show up and they start sweeping the building guns drawn.
Likewise, sometimes you'll get arrested at gunpoint, thrown in the back of a paddywagon, and trucked off the a cell. Other times they'll run your IDs and tell you to get your ass out of there.
Depends on the location, who the person was who called them in, what the person reported, and honestly, how the cops are feeling that day. Like someone said earlier in the thread, if a ton of cops show up, or K9, swat, or a chopper is called in, you can bet you'll be arrested just to justify the response. http://www.urbex12.com

Guns drawn. Ever have a Glock .40 or 12# pump pointed at your chest from close range?
Fun times.
yes... and as said, more cops=jail...
the few times i have met cops, 1st was "huh, GTFO", 2nd was "Got I.D.? GTFO but leave the beer." 3rd was "hands behind your back..... oh shit a car wreck! GTFO NOW!"
but yeah. running from cops, not a good idea, hiding is not much better. walk right up to them and be honest, i dont think the UER GTFO card will work, maybe if there is a folded up $20 with it...
