Exploring in Youngstown, OH

I read a few posts about some people finding meth labs in some schools in/around Youngstown. Needless to say, that sketches me out a little bit when I'm there. I know I can't really ask about specific locations since I'm a noob to this site, but if any of you guys recognize this school and have some info on it I'd really appreciate it. I went for the first time about a week ago and for some reason had a really strange gut feeling about the basement. I wouldn't say that I necessarily thought there was a meth lab in it, I just got a bad feeling about going down there. It probably didn't help that a stray dog and I scared the everloving shit out of eachother right around the time I arrived. Anyway I didn't go down into the basement, but I'm kind of hoping to overcome my nerves and check it out next time.

If you're traveling just to explore in Youngstown, no.

There is less there than you might think.

This is true in a way. Although there are a lot of abandoned places to check out in Y-town, most of them are pretty much destroyed, and even more of them are located in some pretty unsavory neighborhoods. I've heard quite a few stories from some other people in the area involving hostile homeless/crackheads so unless you're ok with that, I'd say don't bother. There are a hell of a lot of great locations in the area though, just not within the city. I'm sure some of them are in the DB.

I was in that school two weeks ago. We were on the first floor and heard the dog upstairs. It was doing the lonely dog yowl. We saw numerous large paw prints in the muck. Not wanting to run into the dog, we only ended up exploring the first floor.

While I didn't get inside because the way in was too visible and it was a busy time of day, the Paramount Theater downtown is probably the nicest place to visit in Youngstown. Its days are numbered, so I would go there soon.

Yeah thanks for the info. The dog is probably harmless tbh. It was pretty scared when I yelled at it and just ran off.

[edited when I realized you weren't talking about the entrance to the school]
