|  | | | the boat has not moved in as long as i can remember, and thats going back well over 25 years. i can only think that this place was some sort of dock for mining the rock in the area, there is a very small train that travels in the "area". it runs on tracks that are only about 18" wide. i know that there was a real train that ran here but it has long been gone, the bridge that went over a small creek is now converted for foot traffic.
on with the pics:
first view as i reached the river.
the dock wall.
this link was about 10"long.
on they way back up.
the small area on top of the dock was well fenced in.
but the lock was not very useful.
there was a sand hill nearby, as a teen, we rode our dirt bikes here.
walking back to the truck, i saw this.
my friend wanted pics of these trees.
and.
at the truck, i saw this, it looks to me like a small boiler for the mini-train.
yup. its a boiler.
this place was really the first stop of the day, blame photobucket for mixing them up- i do.
there once was a small farm house near this "room" the flood of 93' and urban growth took it away from here many years ago. the farm house may have been moved to some historical location. from what i remember, it was well sealed up and in good shape. this small room is all thats left.
soon this tree will push the wall in.

some deer fur, mabe a fight? or a den? it was recent.

this was my very first time using a nikon d90. i am way out cam'd.
