| | | | Ironically, while up in the Bay this last visit we did the touristy thing aboard the USS Hornet, and the guy mentioned that they salvage items from the Mothball Fleet in order to restore parts of their ship. He went into how eery it is aboard the ships with no lights and what not, then proceeded to say how there is very limited access to those ships except for those with specific approved business. Lil Bugsy and I kinda looked at each other and laughed at that point.... Guess he hadn't seen the adventures others had taken lol

| | | | I am truly in awe at looking at all of this and the work that went into getting aboard these vessels. Spending most of my childhood living with a backyard where this fleet was visible from, I often stared and wondered what it was like out there and having several times "drifted while fishing" to be abruptly turned away I could only imagine. Thank you for sharing these posts ... over 25 years from first glance and I still can't comprehend the awesomeness that you have revealed just a small portion of.
