WW2 Germany never produced any chemical weapons intended for field use other than in Holocaust shower rooms. The US did though, and who knows where all those went.

just something i read =]

i know they buried some shit under there. not that i care. baytown and all that area is just nasty

You never know what you'll find in places like this. There was little or no accountability during WW2.

Your security measures were inadequate.
How unfortunate for you.

do you know what Brio Toxic is? lol i live on/by it

so im not doubting at all.

Explains a lot bud.

Here's another way of looking at it. If you think the ground is filled with nasty chemical weapons buried near the bunkers... oh nevermind. Trying to use logic is so useless sometimes.

Wait, after rereading what you wrote; you find it less reprehensible that they used chemical weapons in semi enclosed areas to kill hundreds of thousands of jews, instead of on the field of war? Really?

Point is the Germans didn't engage in chemical warfare at all in WW2 on the battlefields. Sorry, I like US soldiers. The holocaust is real, but the Allies are responsible for a lot of the civilian carnage too. Not saying that it wasn't justified, war is war. The truth is troublesome.

Chemicals used in the holocaust were not products of a biochemical warfare effort but rather a quick fix approach by some of the SS.
Many times they use other means such as carbon monoxide (and worse) because cyanide was in short supply.

Your security measures were inadequate.
How unfortunate for you.

the point is that this joke got serious quickly and that conspiracies are not funny i guess.

but the bunkers i believe are ww2 but most were mutions depots that were later cleared or wernt filled.

now they are on plain ground with the gov'ment and owned by various companies used with storage.

id love to make a lil house out of one since they already sell those cool instant cement bunkers.

Well you would think they were -all- cleared, but stuff is still found in the ground after heavy rains at some of these places.

a little research might help or you can believe whatever you want to believe

"Edward Aho, of Astoria, Ore., was on the SS Isaac Wise as it was loaded in spring 1946 with captured German mustard and phosgene gas bombs. During the trip from Antwerp, Belgium, to the former San Jacinto Ordnance Depot in Houston, 16 of the bombs leaked and at least five people were burned, declassified Army records show."

http://news.infosh...&query=san+jacinto

good news is phosgene and mustard gas breaks down pretty rapidly when exposed to the air so the stuff layin around out there is probably not that

bad news is the Army dont got to say nuthin bout where the leaky bombs were dumped so some could still be oozing out on the ocean floor or in a cave in Arkansas somewhere

as a side note, at least they admit dumping nerve gas in Arkansas which was the logical choice at the time I suppose

I have doubts on all of it. WWII is a big clusterfuck of misinformation.

That being said: I'm a hell of a lot less worried about bombs from half a century ago as I am the shit that's been put there since.

I just sat and read that entire article.

The sad thing is, the article is slanted towards the U.S. having dumped so much of the munitions at sea... but if you read it, it mentions that all the other countries did it too. Canada, Australia, Denmark, the soviet union, Japan, China, etc etc the list goes on.

Some of the weapons were our own, many of them were captured. I'm not sure what people thought was going to be DONE with them. The stuff has to go *somewhere*. If it gets buried on land, people bitch about it, if it gets dumped in the deep ocean, people bitch about it. It's not just going to magically disappear.

Something I thought was interesting. It mentions how we'd dump ours and captured stuff in the ocean off the coast of these countries where the war was taking place. I can't see why we would bring shipload of it back home, just to bury it here, when we were dumping the rest in the ocean. That just doesn't make sense.

Also, here's the extent of the validity of that article:

Except there isn't record of it on the Morning Call's site, and other pages that reference this article, reference the InfoShop site's listing of it.

The link at the bottom of the screen just takes you to The Morning Call's site. Also, the article is not dated. Can't find it on TMC's website index.

Just saying, It's not the most validly written article I've ever seen.

The detonators tend to become unstable with age, rendering them more shock sensitive. Even though they are designed to be stable, they are weapons of war, and their function is to explode.
Many of the high explosives from WW2 remain viable to this day. Consider any found to be such even if the metal is completely eroded away, and have a good 4th of July.

^^ You realize this is mainly a problem if you're out near those bunkers with a bunch of people with shovels, or a backhoe or excavator, right?

**EDIT**

And this is only supposing that they actually buried munitions in the ground around the bunkers, then didn't mark that there was UXO underground, and it somehow got left really shallow.

Funny story...
At the moment they are digging up a new pipeline system.
It runs RIGHT. DOWN. THE. MIDDLE.
I shall await the BOOM.

But no, there is stuff there from the 21st century that I am a lot more worried about. Especially since we are just tromping around. I don't expect us to fun into a bomb just sitting there being all bomb like in one of the igloos. Honestly, that would be a bit bizarre.

On a nice rug, by a fire, and smoking from a Calumet. That's how.

Actually Germany did produce a huge stock pile of biological weapons during the second world war, British Intelligence also showed that they could use the V1 and V2 missile systems to deliver them. But they did not for a couple reasons.

1) The Geneva Convention in 1925 banned the use of Chemical Weapons, most allied nations signed this. The US did not, but agreed not to use them for a first strike weapon, but would respond with them if attacked in kind.

2) The Blitzkreig tactic used by the Third Riche did not require chemical weapons to be successful as it was a fast attack, not a static trench system like what was seen in the First World War.

3) Hitler himself was subjected to a British Gas attack in 1918. This attack temporarily blinded him and might have had a hand in him not using Chemical Weapons.

The Nazi's only deployed Chemical Weapons in their death camps, both for testing new chemicals and for implementing the Final Solution. (I have never agreed with this action, just using the term within the historical context)

At the end of the war the stockpiles were disposed of by dumping them in the ocean and still today are causing massive ecological damage.

That being said, chemical weapons are disgusting, the weapon of a coward, and what the Nazi's used them for equally disgusting.

Excellent photos Astro, looking forward to seeing more!
