Hey Jeff, cool shots. It's definitely a nice location. Seven of us from the Seattle/Tacoma area made it up there on Saturday, along with a stop at the old dairy farm. The concrete plant is certainly larger than it looks from the outside. We all had a fun day exploring and sliding around in the snow.

Do you live out that way or are you close to Seattle?

u-235: Yeah, that place is like one of those buildings from a movie, where it looks small from the outside, and then is enormous on the inside. It was my first time out there, I thought it was pretty cool. I'm close to Seattle, I had some time on my hands so I made the trek out there.

absinthe_faerie: Impressive stats, I know! Heh, I created this account years ago and then kinda forgot about UE as my life got busy with other stuff. I remembered I had an account here and figured I should start contributing. Better late than never!

Looks like a fun location! I hope to make it up that way once the weather dries up a bit & I have more than a day to explore.

Good info, thanks. I may head back out there in the next week or two and look around some more.

By power plants, I assume you aren't talking about anything related to the damn that's currently operating on the lake?

Nope...

Across the lake and through the woods is where the High Voltage came

, connected to the exciters, and switchgear that harnessed the power of the burly Bear that flowed into the dam, and down the penstocks to the generators...

Through some open holes, you can see the path of the power, as it entered the crusher on the slanted wall with insulators on the ceiling and what was once great power from the bear, tamed by Tesla and Edison to power the mighty crusher.

Very nice! Love that old truck. It's a bit further down the road and we weren't able to get to it since there was a foot of snow when we went.

Also in love with the... school? Is that what that is/was? Sweet

I'm sure they were part of the original design. I'm not sure what they were used for, but they were definitely part of the floor, not something that happened later.

Made it out to the concrete plant yesterday &^ on a perfect day! There were a bunch of people doing their yearly post-apocalyptic photo shoot. Great location! I wanted to check out more, but the fam got hungry while we were exploring, so I was outvoted. Hopefully be able to post my pics in the next few days.

Not near Portland. NW Wash.
