Since this is on Wikipedia and required nothing more than searching for Six Flags, I figured this would ok to post here. I'm not sure how many of these are still standing and or abandoned.

I feel like the next step is to try to find a current google earth picture of these places, but I am a wee bit lazy, or people could drive by.

Though, I have a feeling that at a place with big metal things to climb on there is tons of security.

Keep on exploring

Weird. I remember seeing commercials for Darien Lake all the time as a kid. I didn't even know that it closed 4 years ago. I went there as a wee lad but I don't remember much of it.

edit: upon reading further apparently it was just sold off by Six Flags, not closed completely.

Are they all actually abandoned/deteriorating though? I can't help but figure alot of the locations in the states must be gone by now. Personally I haven't seen any pictures or even heard about them.

Lol, imagine scrappers at Six Flags.

I would hand deliver a crown to anyone who managed to sneak into one of these places and turn on then ride a rollercoaster.

The one down in New Orleans has been rotting away since Katrina hit in 2005. However it is currently in talks as to whether Six Flags will re-open it or not. (It's in the DB if you want more info and pics)

There's a fairly well done video (or two) on YouTube as well which I think have been posted here before, dolly-driven stuff, far nicer than your usual shaky cam videos.

As for the rest, fascinating, and good share, thank you.

Get down, girl, go 'head, get down.

Also been using it for movie shoots.

The question is not when are we gonna stop, It's who's gonna stop us?

Been there, done that, didn't get a t-shirt because the vendors were closed.

It's just back to "Darien Lake" now, instead of "Six Flags Darien Lake." Nothing abandoned to see there.

Six Flags no-longer has any connection to the property; they removed the Vekoma kids coaster (now at Magic Mountain) and the Batman clone (now at Fiesta Texas) and hightailed out of there.

Wow, nice info, thanks. I'd LOVE to go to one of these places, but the closest for me is Michigan...but it's so worth it.

The one in NE Ohio is still there as far as I know. There isn't very much left of it, and what is left is deteriorating pretty badly. Also I had a VERY close call the last time I tried to go so I wouldn't really recommend the place.
